Ugh, I know I'm gonna sound like the bad guy after this so I apologize in advance. He signed a 3 year deal which means he was going to be here for 3 years. He was 29 so he had to have had a young family either not in school or early in school (although something was said about a step-daughter wanting to be close to her dad? that shouldn't factor into this kind of decision....) So kid wise, it shouldn't have been a problem moving them. Wife had a job or wanted to be close to family? Sorry, tough cookies. Your husband makes $3.5 million dollars a year. Suck it up. Make the sacrifice. If one of those reasons was why they didn't move, I dunno that just seems selfish to me. We are going to lose a solid top 4 D-man who has made his mark here, who loves this team, because his family won't move here. That really SUCKS! Again, I may not have this right (at all), and I apologize again for sounding insensitive, but this sucks......

I was off by a year in my first comment, sue me. That doesn't change my point. After next year, there will have been recycled teams 3 years in a row in only six total years of the WC. Thanks for the attack btw. Surely you understand why other fans would be annoyed by this? If not, I don't know what else to say. I'm not your buddy, friend. The Blues are on pace for 109 pts...which would be their 2nd best finish in team history behind the 114 pt. President's trophy team in '99-'00...and a better finish than the Conference Finals team of '00-'01. Offensively, yes, there have been far better Blues teams...but overall, few have been better...so far. There is a lot of hockey left to play yet though. I'm not banking on anything yet...too much can happen. Well isn't that the obvious statement of the day. I doubt I'd complain. But I would completely understand if other fans did. From a fan's point of view, the NHL shouldn't recycle teams so quickly. Not sure what that has to do with anything... But wait...oh yeah...I forgot where I was posting for a moment. Woah...hold on... "anything Detroit"?? Hmmm... Why don't you put together a list for me? Seriously. I assume there are a few good places to eat? I guess the Lions were fun to watch this year. It's about the last 2 years of the WC and next year's WC all having recycled teams when the WC has only been around for 6 years after next year. I was off by a year. My point is, after next year: - Detroit: Twice - Pittsburgh: Twice - Philadelphia: Twice After the next WC, the last three will have had recycled teams. In six years of the WC, three teams have been in it twice already. That's a little ridiculous. Granted, I understand why...ratings. It's just getting old.

+1 for this. Very valid points made here as well as adding to my already existing concern. This part was particularly funny: then they go on to point out this: So the NHL forced the purchase of alumni game tickets on to fans that were already paying for Winter Classic tickets, and the reason given for not handling alumni revenue cuts is that this was "new to them"??? Correct me if I am wrong, but they would have known exactly how much money they were going to be making if the WC and alumni tickets were a 1:1 ratio.

I can't even imagine the riots that would occur in Montreal were the organization dumb enough to make that trade. The guy possibly wants to play for a west-coast team. Why would they want him when he would almost certainly not stay? I stopped reading here, because this is one of the most senseless claims I've read in a long time.
