I had to look it up to see if it's the same Andrei Nazarov that once played in the NHL back in the 90s. It is. All I can say is that this guy is as unstable as they come. He was that way as an NHL goon, and he's continued to be that way as a coach. He's even attacked fans at a KHL game with a stick. Not surprised he's a Putin fan and would not put it past him to fabricate such a story against an outspoken political rival. Straight out of the KGB playbook. Even if it was true: 1. It was 10 years ago. 2. It was before Panarin even played in the NHL. 3. He was never tried or convicted for it. 4. It was a Latvian woman, which is basically the same as a man anyway.

I hate to say it, but if I remember correctly, his contract expires at the end of next season. If they bring him back, it's just throwing a giant wrench in the rebuild and the progress of this team. This system does not work. Period. I'm so sick and tired, and extremely bored of the dump and chase, if they happen to get it, put it around the boards to the point. D shoots it, 1 on 5 make it on net without getting blocked. Rinse, repeat. They need new coaching, including Bylsma, they can both go.

I definitely see what you are saying, but when your friend is the best option out there, you are doing a disservice to the team by not hiring him. This isnt a situation where Yzerman is hiring a no name to coach simply because they are friends.
