Hard disagree. Saw a fancy chart using new NHL tracking data the other day and not only do Seider-Walman get assigned the the most match-ups vs elite nhl talent on the Wings team but also league wide and it’s not even close. And the gap in these assigned minutes between the Seider pair and the Chiarot pair is larger than any other teams 1st vs 2nd pair and this isn’t even close either. Here’s the chart: https://x.com/Jennife99697952/status/1739755970182402154?s=20 TLDR? 22 yr old Seider plays the most hard minutes and the least easy minutes of ANY other dman in the league, by a wide margin. He’s no where close to his “plateau”.

Ghost is a PP specialist. Never gonna be solid in his own end. Likely gone at the TDL or after this season.

Yup. I think we will be lucky to get Seider on an 8x8. With what he provides he can command more, especially with thecap going up this year, and rising expectations every year after. Though a bridge deal might help us in the short term, i think its better to pay this kid now on a huge contract. Set him up to be a wings lifer and show our commitment.

If he wasn't playing behind Ghost on the pp he'd be on pace for career highs. I also feel like Ghost is taking away his o zone starts as well.

Regarding Kane, 10 games 10 points. He's doing exactly what Yzerman expected him to do. Kane chose Detroit to be here, not get traded. He'll re-sign, probably 2-3 years $5M-$6M.
