MAYBE, the only thing that could've happened was Yzerman was good with either/or and told the guys at the draft to vote and make the pick. That is the only way Kronner and Haken would've been able to "steal" the pick. If Yzerman said either Raymond or Perfetti, you guys vote and winner gets picked. Maybe that is why Draper looked upset.

I'm using decent player term loosely. I think they're both really good players. I don't like that Raymond is a winger, but that's splitting hairs. They're going to be very good. The point isn't that they're good or bad, it's that they're not enough. You can't just draft once in the first and hope to get ahead. Yzerman said so himself. But instead of getting more top picks, he's adopted this "let's hope a 2nd or 3rd rounder becomes a player" approach. Problem is, A) he keeps trading back, reducing the likihood that will work, and B) he keeps picking non-skill guys with limited upside with those picks.

Anybody else think Draper looked super peeved at the choice that was made for Raymond?  He appeared to have a gut wrenching grimace like he was wanting another guy bad but had to go along with what Yzerman decided.

All the player contracts are based on USD, so the conversion rate is never an issue. 

That's just it. Any news of a rejected offer sheet will always be a he said/she said sort of deal. Most offered contracts we never know about. 

Unfortunately rejected offer sheets may or may not ever be known about. It's said Marner rejected a few. But without anything being signed, anyone can claim or deny an offering or offer of an offer sheet.
