Detroit Lions, NFL 2006 Season Thread

For the past few years, NFL fans kept asking for either the Thanksgiving game to be rotated so Detroit or Dallas doesn't necessarily have it OR add a 3rd game to the mix. They did that. They added a 3rd game. Give it up gowingsgo. NFL does well in ratings even during the Lions thanksgiving game. Fans want to watch football, regardless of what it is. Why mess with traditions.

What's more embarrassing: being the Lions, or losing to the Lions? Tough question to answer because the second one may never happen again.

How the hell can the Lions beat the Falcons with ease and lose to the Cards?? That is something I will never understand. I am so glad I am not a lions fan right now. I am a "Lions fan on strike". :D

I envy so many other teams out there that are pathetic. The Titans & 49ers are 5-7 now. I would kill for a record like that at this time of the year. Just to flirt with the playoffs just a bit. To know that your team is getting better. Not the Lions. They are getting worse and worse. I find myself rooting for a lions loss more and more than a win. At least then we can get a good draft pick. Probably will blow any chance of that by making a field goal on christmas eve to beat a pathetic saints team like last year. Oh s***....I just realized. Lions play the Bears on xmas eve. You don't think that they will win that game and screw up our draft position like last year. :scared:

I'm with Timothy- I am sadly rooting for the Lions to lose every week too. I want them to get a high draft pick so I can watch them ruin another player with promise.

So if we get a top 3 pick who's career should we try to ruin?

I have some doubts on Quinn because every game of his career when he gets any type of presure he plays horrible. No question though he has the talent, and with Mike Martz he could be amazing. I also HATE our O-line. So heres my top 3 picks...

1- Brady Quinn- Notre Dame

2- Jake Long- Michigan (If he leaves early)

3- Joe Thomas- Wisconson

Quinn's overrated. He makes bad throws under pressure (both big-game pressure and D-line pressure). He's real slick looking, just so wonderfully smooth when he's got all day to throw and a wide-open receiver. He's got Samardzija and McKnight making him look real good by going up to get throws most college receivers couldn't tough. It would be just like Millen to pick him.

FIRE MILLEN.

Well I was really hoping to ruin Matt Leinart's career last year. Not that the Cardinals can't take care of that.

I guess I would vote for Quinn. I don't think the I dislike the guy enough to wish such a tragedy upon him though.

How about Troy Smith? Double tragedy for him - having to move to Michigan, AND play for the Lions. Geeze, I don't think I dislike him that much either.

Is there anybody worthy of such hatred out there?

Why hate Drew? It's not like he ever beat Michigan. Three years ago was the closest, until he got taken out with a cheap shot.

Man, I don't wish being the Lions QB on anyway...that's just brutal.

Lost all respect for Stanton when he opened his mouth and ripped on Michigan 1 day before this years game. By the way Woodley's hit on Stanton was not a cheap shot. It was Stanton's fault he got railed. Your right though we shouldn't wish anyone to be the Lions QB because thats just dirty.
