Quinn is a pretty boy who chokes when it counts the most. HOW many big games has that Adonis won? Here, let us count:

Lost to Michigan 3 of 4 times.

Lost to USC 4 of 4 times.

Lost to Ohio State 1 of 1 times.

Managed to lose to Michigan State 2 of 3 times.

Lost both bowl games he's QB'd. Will likely lose the third.

But he looks real good torching Navy for five TDs every year.

Could these jokers just trade down and get an O-Line already? Christ. Nothing like Lions football to get the blood boiling.

Don't these stats further add to why he is PERFECT for the Lions!!!

I know there's been a lot of negativity surrounding the Lions lately, but here is a Free Press article about all the good things going on with them:

Freep

Did it say they are moving?

All I got was in both Opera and IE.

It's gone now. It was a completely empty story that said "This is a test headline, article" with a Lions header.

Anyone else have a bad feeling about this Sunday's game for the Lions?? They are playing a Bears team with nothing more left to win so they will likely be resting starters..and just when you think NO WAY the Lions can beat that team, they do. Hopefully I am wrong but I sorta see this loss..er, win screwing up the Lion's draft position.

Of course it could just be all talk, but i read in the paper yesterday that the Bears are not planning on resting their starters. They want to stay sharp. And when you think about it, considering Grossman still needs all the work he can get i think theres definitely something to that. The defense could rest guys at times, but i expect everyone on the O to be out there. Hell they could use 3rd stringers on their defensive line and still manhandle our line anyway.

^^^

Not that it matters. The Lions don't need Brady Quinn. He'd get killed behind the swiss-cheese that passes for the Lions offensive line.

I agree. It starts up front. I would like to see the Lions draft a lineman, either offense or defense. Some players to add to the Lions line.

DE Quentin Moses, Georgia

DE Gaines Adams, Clemson

DT Alan Branch, Michigan

OT Joe Thomas, Wisconsin

OT Levi Brown, Penn State

A couple things i'd like to see the Lions do:

Draft Joe Thomas - the fact that Jones is gonna be injured makes it even more important now to work on that damn line! So draft Thomas, and sign a Guard via free agency.

Trade Shaun Rogers, and use that money towards signing DE Justin Smith (if he hasnt been re-signed, my info might not be up to date) and to re-sign Redding. Also use the 2nd rd pick for the D-Line. Rogers just needs to go cause of his attitude.

Sign Chris Brown - now, i dont know if he's injured or what, but i know he only played in 5 games this year. Im assuming he just got pushed out of the backup job by Lendale White. But Brown could be a nice fill in for KJ, as he's always put up decent numbers when he's played. Platoon him with Brian Calhoun i guess and hope for the best!

Trade for Matt Schaub - This one totally goes under the wishful thinking category as we've already got Kitna and McCown under contract. But if we could find a way to trade McCown somewhere i think Schaub would finally be our good long term QB. No hes not proven and we'd be taking a chance signing him to a big extension, but i really think he's gonna be good. I know this wont happen though..

And for the love of god RE-SIGN Furrey! What are we gonna do...let him walk, sign some guy like Dennis Northcutt and be back to the days where we only had 1 legit reciever in the lineup?

Just when the Lions have a chance to wrap up #1 pick overall, they blow it and win a game basically making it a lock that Brady Quinn will go to Oakland and not Detroit.

GOOD.

:clap::clap: :beerbuddy: :colorbounce:

Pick Joe Thomas. And I'm very glad to see that Lou has joined me on the Matt Schaub bandwagon. Been driving it around and honking the horn for a couple offseasons now. I want Schaub. And I want Furrey re-signed for however long he wants.

I don't follow the Falcons too close, but what does Matt Schaub bring to the table that Kitna doesn't?

And sign me up on the pick Joe Thomas bandwagon.

Well the most obvious one is that he's 9 years younger, so im looking from more of a long term perspective. Trade for him then sign him to a 4yr deal. Just from what ive seen and the praise he gets around the league i think he has a bright future and his time is now entering his 4th year. It would be our oppurtunity to get a Rivers type who'll be ready to go mentally rather than starting over and drafting a Troy Smith. Could he be just be another Rob Johnson? Sure, but you gotta take a chance sometimes.

I'm horribly, horribly biased on this, because Schaub was our star quarterback at UVA for most of the time I was there. But he's definitely got the mental makeup to succeed. No question there. Schaub was always at his best in big games. His arm isn't wow-the-scouts strong, but he's very accurate, and I believe he's got that quarterback "It" that all good QBs have. Moxie, winning ways, whatever you want to call it, some QBs got it and some QBs don't, and it's entirely separate from physical talent. Trent Dilfer's a big gumpy slow white guy with a noodle arm, but he's got "It", and he's a QB I'd take on my team any day. Michael Vick's got all the physical talent but completely missing "It". Schaub's got it, and he's wasting away on the Falcons' bench as an overpaid clipboard stand.

I'm probably the 2nd most biased person towards Schaub behind you since I'm not a UVA fan. I really think Shaub has everything to be good, and I think he's different from Volek (another very hyped backup that hasn't done anything). Bad thing is though Schaub isn't going anywhere with Petrino getting hired in ATL. I could see Petrino going with Schaub because ATL will be throwing all the time.
