Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 (edited) I am rooting for the Sox. Always have, always will. I lived in Boston till I was six and moved here to Edmonton when I started school - so ive been a sox fan for a while. Tough to see the bullpen implode like that last night in the 11th. Gagne is a frickin disaster...i feel bad for him but Francona CANNOT go to him in late games anymore. He seems like he is good for one out and thats it. anyways, hoping for a rebound tomorrow night. P.S. Rockies just went up 4-1. Can they be stopped??? Edited October 15, 2007 by Yzerfan1999
Jwo 7 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 I thought the NHL had a bad tv deal. Did not know the Rockies game was on tv, due to it not being on FOX. Hell I Missed a few playoff games because I did not know it was on TBS. TBS is the last place I would look for sports since all they show is old reruns of Friends, Seinfeld and Sex in the city. Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 (edited) Anyone else watch the Sox Indians game tonight? Is it just be or did the home plate ump have his head up his ass? Questionable balls and strikes going BOTH ways. Unfortunately for me, and the Sox, the 3-0 Strike he called on Ramirez directly impacted the outcome of the game. I hope the league takes a look at it. The indians had some bad breaks too, but I just think the 3-0 strike to Ramirez, who eventually hit into the DP, was a terrible call. I'm not much of a baseball fan, so I don't really have a vested interest in either team. But watching it even Joe Buck was pointing out several questionable calls. And uh, why is that douchebag Dane Cook doing all the promos for MLB?
timothy1997 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 Congrats to the Rockies. Anyone else thing with the long time they have off before the world series is very similar to last year's world series?? I think the winner of the Red Sox-Indians series will beat the Rockies.

Worse yet, why does the intro to every game feature the same s***ty Bon Jovi song? I went to game 3 of the NLCS, and they played it before the game on the big screen. RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted October 17, 2007 Rockies are going to get screwed by the schedule like the Tigers did last year (no excuse for them losing but it's a punishment to hot teams to give them a week off). Someone tell me why IF the Indians win tomorrow night (again wtf is up w a day off during a playoff homestand?) that the World Series wouldn't start this weekend???????????? More people would watch if the series opened on Saturday or Sunday than whatever messed up day they have scheduled: Wednesday? When the last series ends.....the next one should start a few days later - this isn't the Superbowl!

Hell I Missed a few playoff games because I did not know it was on TBS. TBS is the last place I would look for sports since all they show is old reruns of Friends, Seinfeld and Sex in the city. I thought the FOX/TBS thing was a ratings issue, but as someone pointed out above, that is where the AL and NL have contracted their DS series respectively. Apparently, none of us out West watch TV.. Nonetheless, the media is already crying about the possibility of "no Boston or NYY" in the World Series. Sickening - same thing last year - Detroit-St Louis. Two traditional baseball towns in big cities, but boo-hoo it's not New York. I like how the rest of the fans around the country get dissed. Sure Denver isn't a traditional baseball town, but it's nice to see some different teams in the playoffs. Unfortunately I think the AL is better all around and the Rockies have beaten up on the NL teams thus far - but I'll root for them anyways - scr$%w Boston and NY! Hard to root for the Tribe since they are the Tigs rivals - here's to the Tigers getting back in '08!

Hard to root for the Tribe since they are the Tigs rivals - here's to the Tigers getting back in '08! It's a shame to. The Rockies are one of the best feel good stories in all of sports, not just baseball. This was a team that was left for dead. 4.5 games out with 9 to play. 2 games out with 2 to play. They were down in the bottom of the 9th in the play-in game against the Padres. To go on the streak that they did is mind blogging. I am happy to see the Rockies in the world series. If they win it, they will have deserved it. As far as the Indians. Not many franchises in baseball have suffered as much as the Indians. It has been years since a championship and several good teams in the last 10-15 years. If they should win the championship, they will have earned it. I think its a great postseason this year. Just too bad no one is watching it. Rockies are going to get screwed by the schedule like the Tigers did last year (no excuse for them losing but it's a punishment to hot teams to give them a week off). When the last series ends.....the next one should start a few days later - this isn't the Superbowl! They do that so they can advertise the hell of it with a "Don't miss the world series, starting Oct 24th" I agree and think its stupid. Just prolongs the playoffs and hurts teams on winning streaks. RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 Nice collapse by the Tri be - at least the Tigers waited to collapse until the World Series... Would have much rather had the Rockeis play the Indians than the Sox. Red Sox=Yankees imo, same bloated payroll, same east coast fans. Here's hoping that the Sox can't take the thin air - and I'd say the cold but Boston is used to cold. Rockies had too much time off - hope they didn't lost their edge. The Rockies players are far more likeable than the overpaid egos on Boston....Wish they were playing the Tigers.....next year!

The Rockies players are far more likeable than the overpaid egos on Boston....Wish they were playing the Tigers.....next year! First off, Boston wanted that series more than Cleveland. That was obivous the moment the Sox's back was to the wall. As far as more likeable, not sure about that. Red Sox Nation is huge. Plus this is baseball, not football. Everyone can spend whatever they want to spend, but as we have seen with the New York teams, money doesn't equal championships. Colorado is a better story having a smaller payroll and more of a "team" than egos. Red Sox are the better team then the Rockies tho. They have more talent and have the homefield advantage, plus the Rockies long layoff might cost them. Sox should take this series.
Guest DetroitIan Report post Posted October 22, 2007 Boston in 6. Cause even though the Rockies have been on a huge winning streak, they have been sitting around doing nothing for days. Now Boston has the momentum edge in this series. Boston will be the champs this year.

edicius 3,269 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 Go Sox GO. I don't know how it can be said that the Sox aren't a likable bunch of guys. Look at Papelbon and his Irish jig.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted October 23, 2007 Wow, did Cleveland ever roll over and die in that series. Should be an interesting World Series. I plan on watching this one, as I always do, but I would have actually preferred Cleveland in. Just to stick it to the media bastards who think a World Series isn't watchable if the Yankees or BoSox aren't in it. Oh, and before I forget: Go Rockies
BlakChamber 8 Report post Posted October 23, 2007 While I make it a rule never to cheer for a team from the Texas State Park (Colorado) I have to cheer for the Rockies on this one. I can't stand the Red Sox or their fans. The Sox have basically become a slightly smaller version of the Yankees. The entire Rockies payroll is only 2 million dollars more than how much the Red Sox bid for the rights to sign Dice K.

betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted October 26, 2007 game one predictions. Beckett pitches lights out. Francis can't last 5 innings. Red Sox blow out the Rockies by at least 7 Nice call on that one. By the way, the Cardinals released Mike Maroth. The Tigers could use some bullpen help, especially a lefty. I say we ought to go get him back, if the elbow is healthy. Partially a sentimental choice.
timothy1997 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2007 Nice call on that one. thank you. I actually predicted game 2 would be a much lower score game but i figured this one would be the one that the rockies win. Game 3 is simple. Rockies have to win or its gonna be a sweep. My guess is that this series never makes it back to Boston.
Guest DetroitIan Report post Posted October 26, 2007 Even though Boston is up 2-0. Im still gonna stick with my original prediction of Boston in 6. Colorado will not be swept. No way they lose two home games in a row. It's just not gonna happen. Colorado will atleast split at home. And who knows how just one win will spark them. Boston in 6.
