Just returned from a trip to Pontiac's Best Buy for a new keyboard. It KILLED me to have my keyboard break leaving me unable to comment at all on today's game. I'm sure there's nothing left to say that already hasn't but let me just say this simple paragraph.

Going into this series I really liked the Flames, I'm a huge fan of Canadian teams and they were easily my favorite one in the Western conference. Kinda feared that something might happen during this series to change that, but figured 04 wasn't too bad and I rooted for them to win the cup that year too. They were a gritty band of warriors who I respected and felt were the role model for what a hard-nosed team should be. The biggest tragedy for me is that this series has done exactly as I feared and went beyond all expectations. Sadly I have lost all respect for Calgary and their Flames and I don't expect these wounds to heal anytime soon.

Probably been posted in here already, but Iginila's post game quotes have really gotten under my skin. And I don't get all that pissy and I stay relatively calm when watching sports/reading sports blurbs, even during playoffs.

If not, check out NHL.com or some Assoc. Press recap of the game today and you should see what he said.

If Calgary can’t handle losing a game in a best of seven series then they should not even bother to play in the playoffs.

we dont want to stoop to their level. we need to handle this on the ice with class

Not picking at you bro, just showing that it does happen.

"Burke also said he wasn't surprised that Boogaard and Wild coach Jacques Lemaire didn't participate in the traditional post-game handshake at the end of the series. Burke pointed to Lemaire's absence from the line following the 2003 Western Conference semifinal victory over the Canucks.

Risebrough said he advised Boogaard to skip the handshake, fearing that he would be unfairly blamed for anything that might have happened. Lemaire said he stayed away because he was mad about May's punch and upset with Burke for comments he made before the series about the Ducks' superior toughness and strength.

"That's the reason why I didn't shake. Very simple," the coach said." from this TSN story from the Ducks/Wild series

peace,

esteef

Great to see Zetteberg break his drought, and Lidstrom with 4 assists. How was Filppula tonight; I see he played a ton of minutes on the PK.

Flip was awesome on the PK, worked hard, did great. Heres to us beating the flames at the dome tomorrow so it burns just a little more

Just watched the Iginla incident at the last minute of the game and that was nice call on him for hooking the air when he was butt-ending.

Flames looked so ******* bush league with their "captain" spearing guys when they lose. The Wings have outscored them 12-3 at home and they have squeaked out one goal wins at home with help from the refs. Flames suck.

Yep, and they'll probably get more help tomorrow in Calgary with all of this "Wings running Kipper" nonsense. Any touch on Kipper will definitely be a PP for them. We might as well get our money's worth I say, show them what "running a goaltender" REALLY is.

Or we could save having to kill a penalty and just mail them a video of Ville Niemenen, circa 2004.

I was at the game, hell of a game. Cleary's penalty shot was something sweet.

The thing with McLennan was such BS. Kipper is gonna get payback tonight for what his backup did.

I thought for sure Lidstrom and Iginla were gonna go to blows. Nick was playing alot more physical than he normally does. I thought it was hilarious towards the end of the 3rd where Iginla was starting s***, threw his gloves and fell on his ass.

Lets wrap it up tonight boys!

I'm really hopping Kipper doesn't 'pay' anymore than the 6 or so goals I undoubtedly hope we score on him. I also hope that the Flames don't get overzealous and try to run Hasek. Oh that will make me really mad

This game better be officiated better.
