BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 I'm a bit confused. I thought the changing of the jerseys was due to the fact that Reebok was not designing shirts with horizontal striping at the bottom, but yet some of the shirts on there have it.
al48 1 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 (edited) OK, first off, everybody stop freaking out. The Wings jersey isn't changing. The ones you saw in any of those sites is FAN made photoshops of what people thought would look good with the original Reebok template. They are NOT indicative of anything. Jesus...do you think the Red Wings would release any lame photoshopped image like that to anyone? If they did, I would hope their design person was fired. The new Reebok jersey does allow for horizontal striping, but Reebok claims that teams that use it will not see the full benefit of the new design, that's it. The jersey will be the same, just snug like the All-Star jerseys. Man, this discussion has been beaten to death and people still don't get it. If you watched the All-Star game, you know how goalies and players will appear in these new jerseys Edited May 27, 2007 by al48
Barrie 900 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 The way the uniform fits doesn't bother me, I just don't like those horizontal stripes :puke: .
Wingfan191 2 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 Yeah, all the pictures you guys are seeing aren't real. They're fan made photoshopped images. The Red Wings jersey's will NOT look any different in terms of design. They will just be slim like the All Star ones we saw this year. In fact, most teams will not change a thing. The only teams getting new uni's or designs are the Capitals, who will be going back to red/white/blue, the Stars, who will now have a number on the front below the word STARS, Sharks will have some a slightly different color scheme, Bruins are said to have a slightly new logo, Blue Jackets are dumping the Yellow Jacket and yellow colors, they will be making their 3rd jersey their new home uniform and the logo on it will be their new main logo. Sens will be dumping their black jersey's and going with the red full time, and the Canucks will be going to the green/blue colors, but will retain the Orca logo in some degree. And the new authentic jersey's will be running pretty pricey. Around 300 to 400. Replicas will be 150-200.
Xduff83X 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 last i checked, theres no run way involved in the nhl... as far as im concerned, as long as i get to watch nhl hockey and the wings, they could wear smocks for all i care. relax people its just a jersy. lol
Fatsyuk 1 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 (edited) I've said this once before. I'm all for the new jerseys if they truly help the players. They do look stupid and you'll never catch me wearing one and I don't think they will sell very well. I like the old jerseys and I bought one today. Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 The way the uniform fits doesn't bother me, I just don't like those horizontal stripes :puke: . I know. That's what bothers me too. If their going to ruin the Wings normal jersey with all those idiotic stripes, then f*** them all. These are not soccer jerseys. I like what someone else said here too: With all the problems the NHL has (marketing, TV contract, keeping up with the NFL, MLB, NBA) they choose a new style of jerseys as the supposed answer. What a joke.
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 (edited) Dixie, From what I've heard they will look identical just be cut different, more streamlined. My source is the staff at Fanatic U, a sports store in the metro detroit area. They said a rep brought one in for them to look at already. The biggest downside is they will be priced about 10.00 more than the current jersey's. Great store! I have bought 30+ Jerseys from them in the past. Sucks that they will be $10 more ... I will keep my old ones then. $139 for a wings jersey lettered is kinda pushing it... considereing they are only one color lettering. Blah ohwell. detroitdan 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 They got rid of the third jerseys for next season...I think you're right...only 2 jerseys for each team next season...and they won't be cheap to buy either...I'm thinking at least $150 Canadian
DaKineMaui 8 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 horizontal stripes, tight fitting vs. loose fitting....... Um........does anybody else fell just a LITTLE bit gayer after reading this entire thread?
spydrwebb 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 The way the uniform fits doesn't bother me, I just don't like those horizontal stripes :puke: . what horizontal stripes? i see vertical ones but not horizontal. i'm for keeping jersey designs the same. sizing/fit doesn't make a difference to me. Hockey13Playa 240 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 I don't like the new idea for the form fitting jerseys, or just having vertical stripes. Butttt, I do like on that link the kings new jerseys, going back to the old colors, same with the capitals. The stars jersey is kind of cool too, however the rest of them suck. I don't like the idea of form fitting or eliminating horizontal stripes.
Wingfan191 2 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 (edited) I swear to god, do ANY of you people READ the other posts in this thread?!!?!? I explained what was going on with the jersey's this up coming season. THERE WILL BE BOTH HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL STRIPING!!! Reebok is not taking any designs out. The teams are free to do whatever they want. And I'll copy and paste my last post so you read it again! The Red Wings jersey's will NOT look any different in terms of design. Sleight 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2007 This obviously fake, did nobody see the Kansas City jerseys? Obviously these were made by someone with way too much time. Just because the cut is going to be different doesn't mean every team in the league is going to have an overhaul on every design and in some team's cases logos. Come on guys, I can't believe this has gone this far, you have all been duped by a 12 year old who posted something on a 2ksports website, this is an all-time low. Wingfan191 2 Report post Posted May 28, 2007 Isn't that in the ballpark of the current jerseys? No, current authentic with lettering run about 280, authentic with no lettering is 200, replica with lettering run about 160, and replica with no lettering run 90. The new All Star jersey from this year had a crazy price drop at the NHL.com store, but the original prices for those were 350 for an authentic with NO lettering. Replica with lettering is 185, replica with no lettering is 110, and for some reason I can't find the price on the site for the authentic with lettering anymore. Looks like they stopped selling them. But they were around 400 to 450 bucks when they first came out because I was on another hockey board during the time and everyone was complaining how expensive they were during the All Star game. betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted May 29, 2007 i'm pretty sure this rant was worth the energy you spent on it. Obviously it wasn't, because the common sense contained inside was totally lost on you. And everyone else who would rather froth at the mouth over some photoshop image than spend five minutes reading about the truth. Fact is, that dumb picture of the "new Red Wings jersey" is some yahoo's imagination based on the WIngs' colors and the All-Star template. Everything Wingfan191 said is true, but you decided to just roll your eyes at it anyway. Way to be.
GoHabs007 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2007 (edited) Blue Jackets are dumping the Yellow Jacket and yellow colors, they will be making their 3rd jersey their new home uniform and the logo on it will be their new main logo. Well, that statement doesn't exactly help your credibility. The Jackets dumped the Stinger shoulder logos after the 2003-04 season in favor of a shoulder logo that is a Union soldier's cap. And there has never been any yellow on the Jackets' jersey. Stinger is greenish, not yellow. That being said, I still think the logo/uniform changes you posted are legit. I know the Habs have said they have no plans to change their uniform, despite the Habs jersey being among those posted around the web. I also know the Jackets are unveiling new uniforms at the draft, and most believe it will be making the 3rd jersey the primary jersey, as you've stated. The pics are fakes. Guest jaytan Report post Posted May 29, 2007 (edited) I've been keeping an eye on this for a while. The only thing that will change for most teams is the cut and the fabric. Detroit will look the same, for all practical purposes (just like they basically look like they did when they were literally wearing sweaters out there). Teams that will change are rumoured to include Washington (confirmed), Dallas, Minnesota, San Jose (unlikely), Calgary (unlikely), Ottawa, Columbus (using their alternate logo as a main crest), Vancouver (confirmed), Tampa Bay.... There may be others, but that's all from the top of my head. Most of those probably won't happen. edit: I see this has pretty much been covered. OsGOD 3 Report post Posted May 29, 2007 And there has never been any yellow on the Jackets' jersey. Stinger is greenish, not yellow. That is entirely in the eyes of the beholder... if you have a color deficiency (as with myself) that color could very much look Yellow... In fact looking back I still hold that in some regards it has a yellowish color to it.
