Flip-check 6 Report post Posted November 6, 2007 "Ozzie has played real well -- he's one of the best goalies in the league statistically. He's been excellent," Babcock said. "Dom should be ready to go Friday. We just felt it was important to give Dom the opportunity to be ready. He (Hasek) indicated to me he's feeling good. It's just a matter of getting his timing back." Hasek return on hold Dom's return isn't actually on hold though, since he'll be back on Friday. It's a wise choice as you don't let an injured goalie sit and get even colder, even though letting Ozzie run wild on this streak would be ideal. Send the Preds closer to Sin City Oz! Flush the Jackets into Lake Erie Dom!

Legionnaire11 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2007 the matchup tomorrow just doesn't feel the same does it? no division on the line, no playoff spots to be sorted out. no Hasek vs Vokoun. no Kariya, Timonen or Hartnell and I know they weren't there last year, but no Yzerman or Shanahan. also no Schneider who has just killed the Preds. Tootoo without controversy so far this year. new faces on both sides. Rafalski, Drake... Bonk, Gelinas, de Vries... also consider that it's basically a bonus game for the preds, already with 6 points on this road trip, it's a success regardless of the outcome tomorrow. ------------------------- Still a few interesting things to watch tomorrow. Wings allow very few shots, Preds take very few shots, I wonder how low that number will be tomorrow. Preds have been burned most this season on odd-man rushes/breakaways, Wings have players like Datsyuk and Zetterberg who can murder a team with those chances. I'm not betting on anything particularly exciting, but who knows, over the last two years we've all built up these games with anticipation and they always seemed to fall way short of expectations. Perhaps this year will go above and beyond expectations.

Flip-check 6 Report post Posted November 6, 2007 good, im glad theyre playing the hot goalie Just one more before heading out, it's only one game. They couldn't play Ozzie through his hot streak anyway with Dom coming back off IR. After a 5 day layoff it's best to let Osgood take on the Preds and slide Dom back in the next game. If he were healthy, maybe, but right now the worst thing to do is keep a returning goalie out of the game.
wingnut40 176 Report post Posted November 6, 2007 I'm glad Babs is playing Ozzie tomorrow instead of Dom. I'd rather the goalie who's given us a sick winning streak keep it going to 8 games and then some. The Predators have a 3 game winning streak and I want us to put an end to it! I love Dom to death, but he tends to let some soft goals in.

What matters is how the player comes back from such occasions, and Dom is a champ at that. I don't know... I think a strong performance would increase the BJ's, right? I am afraid so. Bonk, Gelinas, de Vries... yeah tell me about it. last year was great, nashville right up with detroit at every turn...you guys had one of the best from the avs/wings rivalry in Forsberg and it seemed like the rivalry was getting ready to really take off. its kind of like remembering an old friend... hope nashville gets it back together for the sake of rivalries and hard fought hockey games (although i expect nothing less from the Preds tomorrow regardless of team records - they always seem to play detroit hard..)
