eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 -Igor Larionov. Pavel plays the same two-way, playmaking style. -Yes. Cheli already had three Norrises and a boatload of postseason all-star selections. -No..he's in the discussion, but there are a lot of great defensive forwards. He's definitely top 5 for two-way, though. -Howe; Richard was a great player, but it was Howe following up Richard's impressive career by blowing him out of the water in the same number that really gave such prominence to the digit. -Zetterberg -Z will likely end up around 110-115. -Dats. He's more shot-oriented now than Larionov ever was -Rafalski; Schneider's offensive output plus speed and defensive ability. -Lebda; American kid in his 20s, seems the type to surf the internet. BringHomeTheCup! 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 - If you had to replace one Russian Five player for Pavel Datsyuk to play on that line, who would it be? To reduce the confusion on the score sheet, Kozlov. - If Chris Chelios retired before he went to Detroit, would he still be deserving of the HOF (You know that's where he'll be)? Yes, he was a top 5 dman in the league with numerous awards to his credit. - Is Sergei Fedorov a definite top 5 for all time defensive forwards? Yes, no other forward could play both ends of the ice at such a high level. He put a lot of dmen to shame. - Number 9 is probably the most legendary number in NHL history, therefore who is more responsible for this, Maurice Richard or Gordie Howe? Both. Gordie more here in the states, and Richard up north. - If... sorry... WHEN the Wings win the cup in '08, who should Lidstrom hand it to first? Hank. - Henrik Zetterberg is on pace for 137 points, how close will he be from actually accomplishing this feat? I'd say if he gets 100, that would be a feat. - If Igor Larionov and Pavel Datsyuk played together, who would be the goal scorer and who would be the playmaker? Pav, Igor is one of the best setup men of all time. And I think Pav has a better shot. - Zetterberg re-signing with Detroit when he becomes UFA is highly likely... How much will he sign for? More than Pav, but less than Heatley. - Rafalski or Schneider? Raffy, he has more playoff experience, and is better defensively. - Out of every player on the Red Wings roster, which one is likely to troll LGW from time to time? SirDrake sure is a big fan of Cheli.....
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 1. Igor Larionov. I'd still keep him on the Wings roster, though, because he was a great player. 2. Yes. Chelios was a phenominal hockey player before he came here. 3. Probably no. In the prime of his career, Fedorov was the best two-way player in the league, but he wasn't stricly defensive prone like some. Those guys can be considered in the top 5. 4. It's hard to tell. Howe and Richard we're both amazing hockey players, and both did extrodinary things for their respective teams. In the end, I give the edge to Howe. He played hockey for such a long time, and did so many wonderful things for not just Detroit, but to the NHL, the Hartford Whalers, the WHL, and the sport of hockey in general. 5. Zetterberg or Datsyuk. 6. I'll say 120. 7. Datsyuk. Larionov was always a low-shooting, pass first player. 8. Rafalski. Is younger, is a better puck-moving defenseman, has the same offensive capabilities, and is much better defensivily. 9. Jimmy Howard.

Flip Took the words off from my screen!!! Another question: After watching last nights shoot out and thinking back to previous shoot outs I had this question in my mind: The game is in a shootout, you have one player to choose to take the shot, Do you choose Dats or Z? I actually go with Z, he has the Forsberg backhand move from the olympics, a twisted wrister, and that move last night made Mason look like he belonged in the frozen food section at Star Market!!!! I am not saying Dats doesn't have the better moves, or is worse I am just saying right now, Zeta. His nickname should be changed to Clutch or however you say it in Swedish. This year and most of last if you looked up the word clutch in the dictionary his picture was next to it. I am so excited these two are on the wings (hopefully for a long time) I just wish I could watch more games!

union drone 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 (edited) - If you had to replace one Russian Five player for Pavel Datsyuk to play on that line, who would it be? Sergei Fedorov - If Chris Chelios retired before he went to Detroit, would he still be deserving of the HOF (You know that's where he'll be)? Chelios will get into the HOF mostly for the things he did before joining the Wings. - Is Sergei Fedorov a definite top 5 for all time TWO WAY PLAYER? Top 5? Probably not. Top 20? Quite possible. - Number 9 is probably the most legendary number in NHL history, therefore who is more responsible for this, Maurice Richard or Gordie Howe? Well, let's not forget Bobby Hull... Howe was probably a bit more famous than Richard or Hull for being #9, but the others certainly can't be overlooked. - If... sorry... WHEN the Wings win the cup in '08, who should Lidstrom hand it to first? Depends on how the Wings got there. Zetterberg is a good possibility, but others might be more deserving. If Lilja scores a SCF game 7 OT goal, I would imagine that he'd be pretty high on the list. - Henrik Zetterberg is on pace for 137 points, how close will he be from actually accomplishing this feat? Zetts will slow down a bit over the course of the season. I think that he will finish with 45g 65a for 110 points. - If Igor Larionov and Pavel Datsyuk played together, who would be the goal scorer and who would be the playmaker? They would just both stand in front of the crease passing the puck back and forth. - Zetterberg re-signing with Detroit when he becomes UFA is highly likely... How much will he sign for? Detroit will probably re-sign him for at least as much as Dats is making. - Rafalski or Schneider? Rafalski is a more multi-dimensional player than Schneider. - Out of every player on the Red Wings roster, which one is likely to troll LGW from time to time? Actually, it's Babs. He does the opposite of what everyone here thinks is right. That is the reason for the Wings' continued success. Probably, but not definitely. - Number 9 is probably the most legendary number in NHL history, therefore who is more responsible for this, Maurice Richard or Gordie Howe? Howe - If... sorry... WHEN the Wings win the cup in '08, who should Lidstrom hand it to first? Chelios - Henrik Zetterberg is on pace for 137 points, how close will he be from actually accomplishing this feat? I'll be happy if he hits 100. 137 is out of reach, because this isn't the 1980's. - If Igor Larionov and Pavel Datsyuk played together, who would be the goal scorer and who would be the playmaker? Datsyuk is more of a goal scorer than Larionov, so I'd have to go with Pavel. - Zetterberg re-signing with Detroit when he becomes UFA is highly likely... How much will he sign for? If you don't know the answer just say next question, ready? - If you had to replace one Russian Five player for Pavel Datsyuk to play on that line, who would it be? Probably Fedorov, Datsyuk could make the perfect pass to Feds, and Feds could take the perfect shot for the perfect goal many times over. - If Chris Chelios retired before he went to Detroit, would he still be deserving of the HOF (You know that's where he'll be)? Not as much so as now but yes He deserves it for his play in Chicago as well. - Is Sergei Fedorov a definite top 5 for all time TWO WAY PLAYER? yes Feds is the textbook definition of a two way forward - Number 9 is probably the most legendary number in NHL history, therefore who is more responsible for this, Maurice Richard or Gordie Howe? number 9 is more reconzied with Howe especially in Michigan but I think 99 is more legandary than any number, everyone knows 99 and Wayne even non-hockey fans, same with Jordan and number 23 - If... sorry... WHEN the Wings win the cup in '08, who should Lidstrom hand it to first? good question, depends on how things play out, Zetterberg would be my choice since hes never won it, then shortly after most the players, Babcock also, I can't wait to see Babs raise the cup hes a great coach. - Henrik Zetterberg is on pace for 137 points, how close will he be from actually accomplishing this feat? Z streak will slow a little bit but he will finnish strong maybe not 137 points but his career best I'm sure - If Igor Larionov and Pavel Datsyuk played together, who would be the goal scorer and who would be the playmaker? Both can setup plays and both can score, 50-50 which will keep the teams guessing, Pavel has more moves though - Zetterberg re-signing with Detroit when he becomes UFA is highly likely... I like them all so much, but you just can't take Federov or Igor off. So Kozlov - If Chris Chelios retired before he went to Detroit, would he still be deserving of the HOF (You know that's where he'll be)? Most considered him a hall of famer prior to the trade. - Is Sergei Fedorov a definite top 5 for all time TWO WAY PLAYER? I'm not sure I'd even put him in my top 5 all time russian 2-way players (tho that's no disrespect to Federov, he was very very good). - Number 9 is probably the most legendary number in NHL history, therefore who is more responsible for this, Maurice Richard or Gordie Howe? Howe. No one, not even Gretzky, is more synonymous with hockey. - If... sorry... WHEN the Wings win the cup in '08, who should Lidstrom hand it to first? ME! kidding. Give it to Zetterberg, he's our best player without a cup. - Henrik Zetterberg is on pace for 137 points, how close will he be from actually accomplishing this feat? I think he could break 100, but I actually hope he doesn't get THAT high, or he'll cost a fortune to resign. (yea, i'm a jerk like that) - If Igor Larionov and Pavel Datsyuk played together, who would be the goal scorer and who would be the playmaker? Datsyuk. - Zetterberg re-signing with Detroit when he becomes UFA is highly likely... How much will he sign for? Lets see how many points he has until then.
