puckbags 863 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 I dont think this has been posted yet, Hartnell and the Flyer's with another cheap shot tonight against the Bruins, the same team they had the last incident with!! Albers from the Bruins was along the boards and on his knees trying to play the puck with his glove on a short hop and Hartnell came across and stoved his head into the dasher. He knew exactly what he was doing and took a cheap shot on a guy who was very defenseless. Hartnell needs to be suspended and taught a lesson, it's just a joke to hit a guy when his head is paralell to the dasher. Bruins' Alberts leaves after head shot

Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 (edited) That entire organization needs to be buried in a landfill in the middle of a desert. And can I just say, THANK YOU, Versus, for broadcasting this game. Nothing like a little nationally televised headshot to help the NHL's image. Son of a Wing 1,644 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 On the play, which occurred with 5:38 remaining in the second period, Flyers forward Scott Hartnell collided with Alberts, who was sliding on his knees near the boards at center ice. Hartnell’s elbow and shoulder hit Alberts flush in the side of the head, causing it to collide with the dasher violently. Alberts lay on the ice for several minutes, and was eventually lifted to his feet and escorted to the locker room for evaluation.

I agree with you man..this game needs to get tougher under the hash marks again but when you see this hit it won't look like the worst hit you've ever seen by any means but the vulnerability is what makes this hit bad!! Thats one hell of a good pic at the moment of impact..nice work..where did you find that?
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 Hartnell had all kinds of time to hold up on that hit and didn't. Dangerous with a player in such a vulnerable position.
Son of a Wing 1,644 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 Thats one hell of a good pic at the moment of impact..nice work..where did you find that? Yeah I thought so too. It's from Kuklas Korner One of the best sites around for NHL news. Not to mention his Abel to Yzerman blog dedicated to Red Wings.
Hiei 192 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 That entire organization needs to be buried in a landfill in the middle of a desert. So the Flyers should be moved to Phoenix and the Jets moved back to winnipeg? I LIKE IT!

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 I like physical hockey as much as the next guy, but all these dirty hits are starting to tick me off.
Opie 308 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 There was no excuse for that hit. Hartnell very easily could have turned away or let up, but he had no reason to hit Alberts. This team needs to learn a lesson, if this is another 2 game $5600 penalty, that is terrible!

Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 Their favorite hockey move....the wrap-around. I feel like in the span of just a few posts we've solved all of the NHL's problems. :beerbuddy: But seriously, something needs to be done about this organization. And I don't mean that in the common knee-jerk "Well that was just plain rude! Harumph!" sense. There is clearly something wrong with the Flyers' culture, and it's a bona fide threat to people's well-being. Almost kill me once, shame on me. Almost kill me twice, somethingsomething slap on the wrist. Almost kill me thrice....
TheBadOne 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 So the Flyers should be moved to Phoenix and the Jets moved back to winnipeg? I LIKE IT! Seriously, the local TV media here's as supportive of the Coyotes as an absentee dad is to his kids, so I don't think anyone but the hockey fans here would care. Too bad, because they're 4-0 with Bryzgalov in net, don't mind getting into fights, and are actually above .500 for a change.
Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 After watching the hit on NHL on the fly. on NHL Network.. the hit wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be. sure it maybe hurt the guy, but not as vicous as its made out to be. the Lemuix Draper hit was bad.. that wasnt.. nor was the bergeron hit.. obviously boston dosnt care to much about the hits or didnt think much of it, because noone stood up for there players.. so mer idc. Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 Ben, Thats true, but just like in any man. If someone cross's the line, You suck up any reprecausion and you do what needs to be done as a man who is protecting your own. and in this case, A part of your family, a fellow comrade just got rammed by Hartnell, If you truely believe that it was a unessesary you need to suck it up and do what needs to be done. wingslogo19 281 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 This is just getting to be stupid hockey.. Hartnell had plenty of time to hold up but decided to crack the guy who was already on the ice.. Its too bad Milan was out with a conky or else im sure he would of jumped in.. Im guessing that Hartnell only gets 1 game

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 (edited) That team needs to be set on fire and thrown into a tank of gasoline. I love physical hockey, and the fact that the Flyers have a lot of fighters, but this is getting totally ridiculous. That team is nothing more than a bunch of gutless cowards who hit guys with their backs turned. The worst part about it is their crazy psychotic fans think this is all ok and "part of the game". I cringe at the fact at what might in the Philadelphia water system that turns seemingly normal people into bloodthirsty animals. The days of the Broad Street Bullies are over, and it's time they got it through their thick, fat-induced skulls and realize this. I'm a big fan of physical hockey, but not this bulls*** that the Flyers are pulling. This kind of crap shouldn't go on anymore. 2 games max and a pat on the ass i gather... Oh, I bet it'd be even less than that. The league is nothing more than a bunch of sissy yes-men that follow their own self induced trends. Since Hartnell is a moderately decent hockey player, he won't get much. The only reason Steve Downie got the book thrown at him is because he's a busch league hockey player, and is only worth a bag of s***. Anybody else will just get a simple "warning". HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 I have never disliked, actually..hated someone like I do Hartnell. I think he is the most sorry piece of s*** excuse of a hockey player who is a f-ing classless, disgraceful, no good, punk. I'm so sick of hearing about him and his dirty hits and him getting away with most of it. It's complete BS and needs to stop now. He'll never stop with the way he plays because no one does s*** about it. What's it gonna take? Does someone need to give that piece of crap a taste of his own medicine? I mean seriously.. enough is enough. Sorry if I sound harsh but I cannot stand that man and I hope someone beats the s*** out of him. That is if he doesn't wuss out and turtle.
