Opie 308 Report post Posted December 27, 2007 I didn't think that hit looked that bad, I mean I saw him fall limply to the ice, but I only saw the highlights and the hit was a brief part of the clip, did he skate off on his own or did he need help?
Cicada 4 Report post Posted December 27, 2007 remember he got rocked by Lucic pre xmas...so it could be a concurrent injury thing

Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted December 27, 2007 At first when i saw that i felt bad for whoever it happend to.. then i realized it was jackman, then i just clapped my hands and yelled HAIIIILL YUUUHHZZZ NUKKKKA.. As much as id like Jackman on our team, he is still a D-Bag and anytime you see him fall limp you cant help but cheer.
shannyfan1414 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2007 seemed to be a clean hit to me. I guess it was a case of wrong place at the wrong time for Jackman. Can't say that i feel at that bad for him. Hope that he ends up being OK in the end but at the same time i'm glad that he got his bell rung. Whish he didn't get hurt, i guess.
Mors 201 Report post Posted December 27, 2007 YES!!!!!!!!! I don't really care if it's inappropriate to be happy about an injury to another player. f*** Jackman, he wouldn't care if it was one of our guys...
al48 1 Report post Posted December 27, 2007 Listen, I can't stand Jackman as much as the next person, but I don't think it's appropriate to be cheering or be excited to see potentially career ending injuries. Now, Jackman's concussion most likely isn't career threatening, but it's just not right. You'd all be crying bloody hell if this happened to someone on the Wings. auxlepli 17 Report post Posted December 27, 2007 Franzen hit Jackman in the back. I don't know if it's such a clean hit. Jackman did turn is back to the ice though. Unless I see a wider view I don't know if Franzen could have stopped. In any case, it should be a heck of a tilt NYE.

While I agree no injury should be celebrated, there's a BIG difference between "someone on the Wings" and Jackman. We have no goons on the Wings, so it's apples and oranges. thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted December 27, 2007 The hit looked clean to me. The ref was right there and saw the whole play develop and didn't make a call. And don't forget, it was Jackman who tried twice to rough up Huds after his goal. Who broke it up? Franzen. Then later on, Franzen lined him cleanly and finished his hit. Payback is a *****. Vincanni 1 Report post Posted December 27, 2007 Injured yet again? Dear lord, Barret Jackman's about as useful as a glass baseball bat.
Sepster 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2007 Jackman's a real tough guy when he can sucker punch a guy after a goal or cross-check their ribs while standing at the front of the net, but line him up for a hit and he breaks, poor guy, I'm really going to miss some sleep after this one. Was the hit questionable? Probably. Does Jackman dish out WAY more questionable hits than he receives? ABSOLUTELY. Don't anyone cry for this guy, he's one of the dirtiest SOB's in the league, what goes around comes around. Good riddance. (And by the way, his Calder Trophy sure looks like a joke now-a-days doesn't it? It may have been a toss-up that year between him and Zetterberg, but in hind-sight the voters sure f*cked that one up. Can we get a recall for that one?)

tazzer82 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2007 It was a clean hit, Franzen didn't have to cheap shot Jackman to make it known that you don't go after Rex or any of the other guys that don't fight. Blues fans are crying foul I'm sure, but there was nothing wrong with that hit, and I'm not sure why Walker didn't get an instigator penalty for starting that fight(if you can call it that). He sure did a good job of beating up the numbers on Franzen's jersey, and punching him in the back of the head.
tazzer82 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2007 (edited) Sometimes when you mess with a Mule you get kicked..... Not a surprise, but the Blues are calling it dirty. Trailing by two goals in the second period, the Blues had a scare when defenseman Barret Jackman went face first into the boards on a hit Johan Franzen. Replays showed that Franzen gave Jackman a hefty elbow on the check. "Clearly a hit from behind .. clearly a hit from behind ... clearly," Murray said. "I'm concerned about the Jackman call because we got a player hurt. That's what this league is supposed to be correcting." Murray said he was frustrated not to get an explanation on the no-call against Franzen for a possible boarding. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...CD?OpenDocument Edited December 27, 2007 by tazzer82
