Has Osgoods luck run out?

Ok we all know Ozzies had alot of luck this year and has been playing above his ability, but after watching tonights game I'd say this may be the start of a downward spiral for Ozzie.Hopefully this 3 year deal doesn't come back and haunt us and hopefully Dom stays healthy this year.

Y'all know I'm an Ozzie supporter. Simple enough. That said, I wasn't surprised by the last game that didn't go so well and I speculated that he'd probably have another rough game or two. Why? Well, no one's perfect. He was bound to have a rough streak at some point and given all that's gone on, it just doesn't surprise me that that time has come now and I won't be surprised if his next start is a rough one. What will surprise me is if he doesn't have a standout game that kicks up a new streak of great, steady play right after that.

He's fallible. It happens and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he mentally lost a bit of focus with the All Star game, the attention, the contracts, the overall absurd play of the team and his outstanding year thus far. I think it's almost inevitable that he'd take a few things for granted for a short while and then get his head on straight. You know he's not going to be happy with this and he's got a lot of pride so definitely look for him to get it going again after another game or so.

Only other possibility is a mild injury that we or maybe even he doesn't know about.

Please explain how two bad games, with little defensive support equate to osgood being finished.

once you get to around 10, like hasek earlier in the season, than talk.

I think it's premature to say this is the beginning of the end for Ozzy. The team is in a rut right now, him included it seems.

QFT

I'll be worried about Ozzie if the team plays better. Right now though, everyone is in a rut.

This isn't Manny Legace we are talking about here. Ozzy is more than capable than shaking off some bad goals. Maybe he won't be as hot as he has been all year, but I for one still expect him to be at least top 10-15 in the main goalie stats throughout the year. If Ozzie would have kept that pace up all year he would of been at a Vezina/Hart trophy level, and we all know that just wasn't going to happen.

Not even close.

Every team in every sport in every league has bad stretches of games.

This isn't an inexperience team not knowing how to deal with some adversity. Osgood and the team will be fine.

The team won't panic, we shouldn't panic then.

Yes. He is done. Send him down to the minors and bring up Howard. Actually bring up the whole team as I'm sure they can play better than the Wings at this point.

I think even the Wings, Ozzie included, should be allowed to have a couple of bad games during the season ey? Just looking at the stats he's still one of the best in the league atm...

That was the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. In case you forogt... even after the last 3 games, wings are still first in the nhl... that says something. Wings are great... but I don't care who you are... you can't be hot like the wings have been forever... so they have had a couple bad games... it happens... and quite frankly the wings did not play all that bad tonite...

Yes, Ozzie did not play well tonite... but to say he is dont is just ignorant and quick over dramatic judgment call. Look at Dom, perfect example... had about 3 games where he played bad... now look at him... he is his old self again. Ozzie has been great all year, so he has 2 bad games... My bet is he goes and practices a lot tomororw to fix his problem and will soon be saving us again... along with Dom...

I honestly couldn't pin 75% of the goals being scored on him as his fault. It was lack of effort on both sides of the puck and like in past games it screwed Ozzie. This isn't like when Dom didn't give a s***, Ozzies making good saves but he doesn't have anyone clearing the front of the net. Our D is getting pushed out of the way and letting the other team take rebounds and charge into our zone. I'm gonna say it like it's been said a hundred times, Lilja needs to go and someones gotta check Cheli and Rafalski on turnovers. Finally they need to trade off Sammy or Franzen (preferably Sammy) and get someone who uses their size for something. It's only three games but it needs to stop now before it gets worse and too late.

Ozzie will be fine, one bad game isn't enough to shake his confidence or to say anything about his level of play. He's not lucky, he's good.

The entire team was pretty unrecognizable tonight. They know it, and they will correct whatever is eating them... no doubt. I refuse to say Lehtonen was a hot goalie, though he was good tonight. We made him look better, unfortunately.

It will all be better next game, you gotta fall down sometimes to pick yourself up again.

This is ridiculous!!

To say his luck ran out is just stupid, the Whole team played bad, don't blame ozzie.

Plus, luck is not the reason he's been winning in the first place, it's talent.

give the man a break.

I wouldnt say its luck running out, its just things starting to come back down to earth. There was no way he was going to continue on with a sub 1.80 GAA and near .930 sv%. Things always have a way of leveling out eventually. This is not a knock on Osgood at all, he's just not good enough to be maintaining those insane numbers over a full season.

What is this luck you speak of?

Oh and what is his record??? Did you honestly think he was going to keep winning games like he has been all season long? He and the whole team are in a slump. Its something that happens to every team and every goalie in the NHL. You just have to shake off the loss and move on. Ozzie IMO is still our #1 in net rihgt now and we cant give up on him after a couple bad outings.
