LeftWinger 5,153 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 Fedorov? Lmao. Yes, we definitely need more centers. Especially terrible ones like Fedorov. That will surely put the Wings over the hump. Fedorov would make no sense and would be a detriment to the team. ...yet he will be back! Guarantee, it is already in stone...
MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 (edited) Just read an article that said we might have "secured the services" of him. any truths to this? He can't sign with anybody until the end of March or into April, depending on how far his team gets. Whether or not he's agreed verbally or not remains to be seen. akustyk 84 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 (edited) brunnstrom video (it was posted already though) the video is nice and the guy looks good there. but it is beyond me how a god-fearing Swede could use such miserable techno crap. it should be usual scandinavian tough metal reminding of hordes of Vikings spilling blood and singing their drunk songs for Odin while hanging on cute (though big) behinds of their blonde-haired >6ft valkyrias I mean... come on, it's just pain to hear techno there! YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 Im curious. Does anybody think this sort of thing makes it more likely that Holland goes for a big trade and sends off Hudler plus XX to get a big name?
Matt 1,049 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 Im curious. Does anybody think this sort of thing makes it more likely that Holland goes for a big trade and sends off Hudler plus XX to get a big name? No. Not this season, at least. For all of the hype Brunnstrom hasn't played a lick on this side of the pond. If he signs here and makes the team out of camp we'll have a better idea then. But to make that kind of deal on an unknown quantity (not to mention he can't even sign with Detroit officially until late March -- a month after the trade deadline) would be a bad idea. shannyfan1414 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 This could be pretty sweet if it is true. I was reading about him a little while back. Every thing sounds great about him and everyone in hockey speaks very highly of him. I hope this is true and that he does pan out in the end once/if he gets to detroit. ruarc' 2 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 is this comparable to a verbal commitment? technically, he can't do anything till march/april right?

Guest DetroitBoy313 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 Doesn't sound very official to me. That's what I was thinking.I thought it was an OFFICIAL report.I was waiting to read maybe a quote by him saying that he wants to play in the D.But until I see him in a Wings jersey this is all bull to me. Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 Honestly, I don't really have a problem with it coming from her. She's got unlimited access to every member of the Wings organization. I have a hard time believing she'd say something like that without being pretty damn confident. *fingers crossed*

Systemfel 33 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 (edited) is this comparable to a verbal commitment? technically, he can't do anything till march/april right? All right, listen. He can sign a contract right now. A contract with the 2008-09 season being year 1. And with no transfer agreement in place, Färjestad will probably demand some money for him, or they might not let him go at all. That's how I interpret this situation, at least. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 If he plays in GR, that's fine, I'd love to have a young star in GR. Playing on the Wings? No thanks, not this year.
Matt 1,049 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 Neither did Datsyuk or Zetterberg...and Brunnstroms the same age as those two were. How does that have anything do with trading Hudler prior to the deadline because "Brunnstrom's coming next year"? That was the whole point of your previous post. So because the Wings have had incredible luck in both Datsyuk and Zetterberg that means that, because Brunnstrom went undrafted and will be 23 in a couple weeks he's a sure-fire 1st line NHLer? Come on, now.

We have been lucky with Z and Dats, but if and when this deal is official, I hope we're incredibly lucky with Brunnstrom. I mean if we weren't allowed to say anything dumb at all then why does Sean Avery still play hockey, and who else would announce games for the Nashville Predators besides those homers?
