Guest Crymson Report post Posted February 29, 2008 TSN Sportscentre (passed on to me by a friend in Canada) has said that Havlat is out for the rest of the season after the shoulder injury he sustained last night. Man, this guy has been a walking disaster for the Hawks. I don't know how he had the nerve to demand a trade, given that he's injured for most of the games they play. Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 The guy is a great player but my word is he injury prone. Even worse than Kronwall, and that's saying something...
Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 Do the hawks still have to pay his salary even though he plays like 1/3rd of every season
Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted February 29, 2008 I don't believe it's against their cap as long as he's properly classified.

IceMunkee 15 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 The crazy part is that there was intrest in obtaining Havlat for the deadline from the fans. I think it was mostly frustration that they did not seem to be doing much but to think if we actually gave something up for him? This is his third time hitting IR this season! Havlat is NOTHING like Kronner, or Kronner like Havlat. Havlat will miss two weeks if he cuts his nails to short. Kronner has had some unfortunate mishaps but his injuries have been legit. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 I can't wait till I read this same headline about Forsberg. I probably have to wait about a week for that to happen.

kylee 727 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 ive always thought he has had such an upside to him.. but every year it seems he just gets injured and never really comes back. damaged goods and he's 26. im glad kenny didn't go after him for his injury history alone. theman19 47 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 what's really amusing to me is the hawks track record with injured "star" players. Daze, Ruttu (before the trade), now havlat. I think the team doctors over there just plan must suck.

interminded 1 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 Imagine if he wouldn't be injured all the time... he would play for the Art Ross, that's for sure.
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 Imagine if he wouldn't be injured all the time... he would play for the Art Ross, that's for sure. What? The guy has some talent, but he's no potential Art Ross winner. He's a point per game player at best. I think last year was statistically his best year in terms of points per game, with 57 pts in 56 games. Extrapolate that over a full 82 games, you get about 83 points. That would be a good country mile away from the Art Ross.

I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry over this. This guy has phenomenal skills but he's been so injury prone he's not even worth the trouble. He makes over $6M a year, but for the amount of games you get it's like you're paying him $12M. I'm sure Chicago can't wait to dump this anchor the first chance they get. He spends whole year recovering from something.
IceMunkee 15 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 Havlat is a great player. As soon as I noticed he had been dropped I picked him up and slid him into my IR slot. When he was good I pulled him off and he averaged more then a point a game. I would like to see him picked up by another team. Even ours. Just hear me out. Give him an incentive based contract, like 1 mil plus this if you get x amount of games played. Take a risk and see what is what. He is an absolute great player just very injury proned, I would like to know why. If he could only stay healthy for an entire season he could easily have over a hundred points.
