I suppose Dan Cloutier would have to serve as backup in case Emery got tossed. On the bright side though, with my roster you'd still have 30 million in cap space left for the deadline :hehe:

No Hextall?

BeeRYCE, where is Mowers on your list bud?

It's very simple, him joining the Ducks ruined his value.

No way I can limit it to five without resorting to names like Dominopher McYzerdatswallerbergionovstromula. You must admit it: he's a well-rounded player, but a team of him would kill the salary cap.

OK, if I must narrow it down:

1/2: Kronner and Mac (hard to decide on order)

3: Hank

4: Ozzie

5: Drapes/Malts

Dagnabbit, just can't do it.

There will never be another player inducted into the Hall of Fame on the first ballot who was nowhere near being HOF material at all?

Well I do agree with that.

The Hall of Fame should be a combination of skill AND longevity... Cam Neely had the skill but had his career ended short thanks to a certain Ulf Samuelsson, which is why first ballot for him should have been a no no. However, he was amazing. When he was at his short-lived peak of his career, he was dominant like no other. He reached 50 goals in 44 games, while at the same time, kicking serious ass. I'd label him the best power forward ever, aside from Gordie.

I guess I'll take a shot at this, it's tough though.

1. Yzerman

2. Selanne

3. Lidstrom

4. Kurri, even though I didn't get to see him play a whole lot.

5. Ovechkin

Not sure about the order past #1, but it's difficult to choose just 5.

5. Mike Modano. Another gentleman, thoughtful and loyal, much like Stevie Y, if you know anything about Mo.

Glad to see Mikey make a list! He isn't on mine but as my dad taught him in woodshop back when he lived in Michigan I grew up watching him play. Him and Al Iafrate actually... haha Al's dad laid the cement walk way in our old house. We had al's signature in it for the longest time until a snow storm cracked it. Pretty sweet thinking back.

Cool to see Selanne, Mogilny and Graves getting some love on these lists. They didn't crack my top five, but all are great choices. Some others I wish I had room for: Denis Savard, Theo Fleury (not classy, but never dull), Gerard Gallant, Steve Chiasson, Stu Grimson (yep, you read that right).
