55fan 5,133 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 so uh yeah, that *special* bracelet i had made with the red, white and purple in it fell off into the toilet yesterday at work, and i was not going fishing for it. But the Wings won tonight, so its all good. I'll post pictures sometime tomorrow. Since we won, I won't give you any crap, not that you'd take it. Just wait until the next round and start a tradition of making a new one for each round. Or something. Cinnamon...hmm. Nah, can't have my hamster gnawing at my wrist. Could be real blood (and yes, I did consider using real blood to dye the floss, but I realized the colour turns funny).

OsGOD 3 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 wait so what color do we wear on days when they don' t play???? that is very true... perhaps you all need to make Black ones (red, white and black) for days they don't play... its not like the beards turn off on non-hockey days your arms would get filled up quickly! 55fan 5,133 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 (edited) wait so what color do we wear on days when they don' t play???? They're cumulative. You just keep adding red for a win and white for a loss. Right now, we have 4 red and 2 white. I've been adding beads with the initials of the players who score goals in each game. The bag also came with little hearts, so I added one on each end of the players' initials for each bracelet that clinches the round. I also add the goalie's initials in the event of a shutout. Edit for speeling (bad spelling). Edited April 21, 2008 by 55fan
Yzermania19 1 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 I'm going to get some silver thread and bind the first-round ones together - silver for Stanley, of course!
HockeytownRN 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 I applaud you girls! I guess my equivalent to a playoff beard is not planning my son's birthday party next weekend until I know the 2nd round schedule. LOL I have all the invites to family "tentative" depending on the Wings game. Sad thing is, they are so used to it they understand.

Lovin Jiri Fischer 147 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 So I've been using sewing thread as my bracelets for the playoffs. I'm trying to keep them thin because I work at Abercrombie and we are discouraged against wearing jewelery. So I've been using just a single thread. After I got home from game 2 I put on my second red one for the win. The next day when I woke up, I realized that it fell off. Nashville won game 3. I put on a white one for a loss. Then the new white one fell off the next day. Nashville won game 4. For the rest of the series, no strings fell off and we won the next two games. But the one I added yesterday for the win keeps falling off. And of course I get a new one because I don't want the bad luck of the old one that fell down. But all the new ones keep comming off too. And I swear to the Hockey Gods that I'm making them as tight as possible. And when I'm done I pull as hard as I can on them to make sure they don't come off. Is this a bad sign that the new one keeps falling off? I'm not doing it on purpose.
Frozen-Man 144 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 I'm afraid that you may have to glue them onto your wrist to make sure that we don't lose any more games.

55fan 5,133 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 Duct tape, honey. I've been using it and it works wonders. The silver is for the Cup. Just don't shower with it. I mean, take showers, yes, but remove the bracelets and then put them right on after the shower.
redwingslady87 130 Report post Posted April 24, 2008 My reds are starting to bleed into my whites turning them pink.... So here is the question... Do i make new white ones to replace them? or do i keep them, in the meaning of not taking them off until the playoffs are over?
