I was going to post this in one of the other threads but I thought this required a new one. Will Holland be fired? Do we need a new captain? Is Z retarded??????? Cripes, I would have expected this from a Leaf fan. But the series is 2-2. This happened to us last year and we won in 6. Get a hold of yourselves people. I love the Wings and the way they play unfortunately does determine my mood sometimes, but I think people that write the stuff posted above have lost touch with reality in some way and are taking the team far too seriously. Seriously, the Wings are a great team, they can get out of this hole. (1) Holland is the reason that this organization is where it is today. (2) Lidstrom is a great captain, just because he hasn't won a cup in the time he has been captain doesn't make him a bad captain. Let us not forget that Yzerman was captain for 11 years before he won a cup. (that is not a blow to Yzerman either, he is the greatest captin ever! but these people starting new captain threads a just plain stupid and obviously dont know how hard it really is to win a cup!) *Oh... and Z is retarted, whoever said that is probably the retarted one. Every other season since 2000, the Wings have been eliminated in the 1st round of the playoffs, despite having one of the top 2 or 3 records in the league. Basically the Wings are like the boy who cried wolf, so it's only natural for some people to not believe their regular season successes anymore. The only way we can win tonights game is if we panic, if Dats scores 8 goals, Babs stays in the locker room, and Lidstrom wears the "L" for looooooser and plays at most 5 minutes. Could the team that won the President's trophy actually win the first round of the playoffs without us having to be sedated? Hmm, interesting concept. Yea the NHL playoffs are set up for top seeds to be upset every year (Currently only 3 of the top 8 teams in the League are leading or have already won their 1st round series). The mid-level teams rule the playoffs. I don't mind losing, what bothers me is when media, fans, whoever, think a season is a failure if a team goes out in the 1st round. Sarcasm aside, I will not freak out if the Wings lose this series, I will however not be really happy about it. Some of the guys are still very young, this team is moving in the right direction, and that is what is important to me. I want them to and hope they win a Championship every year, but I am also aware that is an impossible feat. But having said that I would rather them lose in the first round being a one seed, and the team as a whole (GM, VP, coaches) working towards keeping this team great, than win 1 championship and not make the playoffs for years to come. I don't want this team to turn into the lightning, sign a couple of high priced players and then not have enough money or not want to spend money to do what it takes to be a competitive team year in and year out. I would rather root for a team that is a top 3 seed every year and ousted in the playoffs than a team that never makes it to the post season. Granted when I started rooting for the Wings, they weren't good, but..... This team has become the picture of success in the NHL, even when the salary cap was supposed to cripple them, or when last year was a rebuilding year that took them to the WCF.
