Jasper84 333 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 Not sure if these have been posted before, but I don't think I've ever seen an uglier jersey. Lovin' that blue block behind their numbers.

Never_Retire_Steve 35 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 My question is.......... why are two Canadiens both chasing the puck/player behind the net? Didn't their coach teach them positioning? and F1,F2, F3 roles? Also, where the hell is Thomas looking if the Canadiens are skating where they are? Is there a hottie in the stands or something? Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 First time I saw them I thought they were prison uniforms. What really takes the cake, though, is they're one "k" away from having "Cack" on the front of their jerseys.

Elshupacabra 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 There's Waldo gold Yeah, those are some of the Canadians' centennial jerseys. Folks were somewhat crazy back in the day, I guess. Thankfully, we won't have to see them for another hundred years.
Adidarw 35 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 I think it looks kinda cool. The only thing I don't like is the incredibly similar logo to the Maple Leafs.

Cern 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 Thankfully, we won't have to see them for another hundred years. They're using their vintage jerseys twice each in the season, these'll actually be out for another game. The stripes are a little bit too much though, indeed. The centennial throwbacks I really like are their 1915 uniforms (the ones with the red CA logo).

I was like WTF !!! Lmfao, that jersey is plain ugly they should get fined and suspend that jersey to ever be in a game again.

Wombat 26 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 I don't know... I actually like the jerseys. I think with a less-stripey sock, it might look good. It's good for an occasional vintage look but it shouldn't be an every day thing. The old turn of the century stripes, the ugly uniforms of the 70's... they work today as the once in a while vintage look but would be bad as a constant. redwinger21 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 (edited) I am strangely amazed at how this didn't cause Maple Leaf fans to go into a state of pandemonium. I know this is a throwback, but to have their arch-nemesis daunting a blue maple leaf on their sweater, even if they look like are inmate suits...could lead to a civil war! Chunkylover 26 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 Yeah, but it's a traditional jersey so it gets a pass. I thought the candy cane socks at the Winter Classic were kind of cheesy but that's looking at them through a modern paradigm which is not appropriate when judging vintage specimens. For example, the Coliseum in Rome was designed using column designs from three different Greek architectural periods. The Romans found the design attractive because they valued the sort of inclusiveness it represented, tying together the three different time periods. The Greeks however would have thought it foolish because they did not have the same values. That said, yeah from our modern era of cool and aggressive jerseys, that Montreal one looks goofy, but it is a throwback and it's value is in recognizing the Habs heritage. Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 That was pretty brutal. I don't know if they're in the same league as Nashville's mustard yellow and Boston's teddy bear, but its close.
