stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted February 16, 2009 I predict that as of March 5th - -Lebda OR Meech will have a new home either for a pick/prospect or as part of a package -Emmerton and a pick to Atlanta for Havelid that's about all I could see really happening... I don't see a goalie trade happening, as we would essentially have to waive Conklin or Osgood to make room, or carry 3 goalies, which I do not see happening... now what I would LIKE to see happen - Package Meech and a pick for Chris Neil from Ottawa, and try like hell to re-sign him in the off-season
SweWings 45 Report post Posted February 16, 2009 I really don't see how Detroit would go after a goalie and I don't really see how they could improve on forward so yeah a veteran defender would be cool. Preferably a defensive defender but anyone that is responsible in all zones with some kind of upside (defense, offense, physical, etc.) would be cool. He is one of our best young forwards. I guess the only one who is likely to fit top 6 role. however, I agree with Meech + 3rd for Neil. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted February 16, 2009 Chris Neil/Gary Roberts/Owen Nolan or someone of that ilk is a Wing. That's pretty much it, I dont see a goalie move happening or trading Fillpula, not at the deadline at least.

redwing_sparty 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2009 if they have a hossa contract getting wrapped up, then i could see flip being moved. i like him but logically if u have hossa u really dont need him, and he can earn as much or more elsewhere

Grim 5 Report post Posted February 17, 2009 why is everyone ignoring the obvious? the Wings will take a defensive defender. Kenny knows the D depth may be an issue, especially if Stuart is not 100%.

alienanxiety 23 Report post Posted February 17, 2009 two guranteed contracts for one contract and a soon to be ufa you got it. there may be some draft picks involved in this mix, but it's going to happen.
Booster313 138 Report post Posted February 17, 2009 A depth defensemen or forward if anything...unless they get Hossa or Franzen signed...then they could possibly move Flip for a like player who's contract expires after this year...that was we don't hurt our chances of winning a cup this year by loosing someone off the roster but we still have cap space come years end.
