Intriguing. If Florida DID get Neil, there's no way Bouwmeester gets traded. It means they're planning for the playoffs and Jay's a part of that.

I don't see why they wouldn't plan for the playoffs. They are #6 right now.

If the Wings were going to aquire Bouwmeester, you'd have to start with, at least, Kronwall, Hudler/Filppula, and a 1st. I don't know if Holland has the balls to do something like that. Then they would have to find a way to fit him under the cap for next season.

It's not a winning concept to be in idle mode at deadline... kenny you have to do something.. inject some muscle to the team please

You are completely wrong, If I can find it there was an article at thehockeynews.com that talked about this. Read it and you will see that trades rarely make for champions.

J-Bouw wont come here. I think Kenny took the day off like he said he would. I am sure he looked at some last minute deals to see if there was a small addition he could make, and is undoubtedly playing 18 holes right now.

It would be stupid for them to trade him anyway because they are in the playoffs. Unless they get a fat deal, which is unlikely

Historically I don't think making a move has anything to do with playoff success. If the team is doing well, no trade is needed. Some people just NEED to have a trade to be happy.

I think we'll see a player join the WIngs, but nothing major. But I wouldn't be surprised if we don't. We seem to be clicking. Even Stuart and Kronner were fantastic the last game and makes me think their old magic is returning. If they play like last year (which I have a feeling they will) I wouldn't want to lose either one.

So look for a 3rd pairing stay-at-home defenseman or a 4th line checker.

But we have to know. We really do not have to trade anyone this team. Our offenses and defenses are stacked up already and the goalie is little scary but both Osgood and Conklin have been playing very good except for the game against the Preds

I wouldn't trade Kronner for Bouw. Bouw is compariable but more expensive.

Exactly. I don't understand the Kronner hate. He's having a bad year, but the whole team (individually) is, so I guess I don't udnerstand why everyone wants to lose Kronwall when he's still the backbone of our future defense.

Senators, Neil deny trade

Sportsnet: The Ottawa Senators and Chris Neil say no deal is in place to ship the winger to the Florida Panthers.
