Hockeymom1960 5,107 Report post Posted May 21, 2009 I think he should keep the 52. Besides Kronwall told him that it made him look bigger

NGKEIB 32 Report post Posted May 21, 2009 He wore 2 and then 8 when Hatcher came aboard. I find it strange that Abdelkader is wearing 8, since I thought that while not retiring his number, his number was like Larry Aurie's and Konstantinov's in that nobody used it out of respect for them. He still has a stall in the locker room, so I figured that his number would be off limits, especially for a youngster like Darth.

Guest mindfly Report post Posted May 21, 2009 (edited) I'm really confused why Z continued to use that "rookie" #40, when he used #20 all his career until he got to detroit...in 2001/2002 detroit had not signed Lang had they? That belonged to Luuuuuuuuc. Personally, I think Rig should just keep 52 unless he has another number with strong personal meaning.

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted May 21, 2009 I really don't see a reason for him to change it. His rookie season was already consistently NHL-caliber, I'd imagine he'd want to keep that juju going.
