betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 I think there is more truth to this than all of you are wanting to believe. Personally, I've always thought Babs had someting against cheli for whatever reason. You really think in the middle of what could be another Cup Winning run, Cheli is gonna admit all that if it is indeed true? You seriosuly think he'd just come out and say "yah, babs is an ******* and said this and this and that to me". Even JR mentioned how much of a professional he is and that being the case he wouldn't air out dirty laundry that goes on behind the scenes..especially at this time. Say what you will about JR but he wouldn't just randomly pull s*** out of his ass like that. Sure, because Roenick has absolutely no history of mouthing off and pulling s*** out of his ass. Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 JR is and always has been an idiot, but I do wish that Chelli was playing. With two consecutive long playoff runs, he would have been able to extend his record playoff games played to an even higher amount. It's a shame that he hasn't played that much in these last two runs. Have you seen him play recently?
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 Have you seen him play recently? How can I, he never gets a real chance? Even when he played in these playoffs, he hardly ever got icetime. I know he's not any kind of good player anymore, but he's not as bad as Babcock makes him look.

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 This doesn't even make sense. Is Babcock throwing his shoe at Chelios or something? He hardly played at all in that triple OT game. When a defenseman gets no ice time in a long game like that, he must be the worst player in the NHL. I don't think he's that bad.
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 Roenick is a career loser and an idiot. Whether what he says is true or not (and he's told bald faced lies before, so it may be complete b/s) is besides the point. He's trying to create controversy and ingratiate himself to the Blackhawks by stirring the pot. Chelios isn't playing because he's too old to be a top 6 defenseman on a Stanley Cup contender in the middle of a playoff run.
RainingBlood 8 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 Chelios is the best, ******* bringing down Jr off his high horse and taking not playing with a grain of salt. Chelios playing or not you know damn well he is cheering this team on and still helping the young defense behind the scenes. Once Cheli retires bring him in as the defensive coach. I think Chelios knows that this is probably his last season.

RainingBlood 8 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 Roenick lives in South Jersey, he satyed because he liked the area when he played with the flyers. I know exactly where his house if. I should throw a turd covered brick through his window. With a note saying "Your Momma is soo fat the back of her neck looks like a pack of hotdogs."

RainingBlood 8 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 lol Oh, Roenick. Back to the golf course with you now. I think he is trying to negotiate a new contract. 1 year contract to steal money from a dumbass franchise that rather have 9,000 year old players taking up a perfectly good roster spot from a kid in the minors who could put skates on his hands, do a hand stand and skate faster than Roenick. Lovin Jiri Fischer 147 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 I love how Sean Avery calls his ex girlfriend "sloppy seconds" and gets 6 games and anger management. Then JR completely disrespects Babcock (who is actually involved in the NHL unlike Avery's ex) and the NHL posts it as a juicy story on their website. (Not saying JR deserves to be suspended. I didn't think Avery did either. But I do think it's sad how they are inconsistent with what is and is not appropriate)

gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 I hate to say it though, there may be some truth to player-coach conflict. I love having Babcock around, but this isn't the first time we've heard of players being "mistreated" by Babcock. He rubs a lot of players the wrong way, but so far it hasn't generated too much drama or ruined the teams chances at winning. I think whenever his reign as coach is over we'll hear a lot more about what's goign on behind the scenes. Even if it's true, JR's still a tool and I trust that Babcock knows what he's doing. There was this other coach...I think his name was Scotty Bowman...he used to bust his players chops too. Sometimes that's what it takes and players that win Cups and like to play on winning teams understand that, hence why they typically don't run their mouth. They know the score. Chelios certainly does. JR has no clue.
Phazon 24 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 chelios is 47 years old, he should be lucky that he is still playing hockey, and that on the best team in the NHL.

C-TownWing 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 because I was roenick in nhlpa93 Still the gold standard of hockey video games, and of course, the birthplace of the legend of JR. Also, fun fact: it's really, really easy to make Larry Murphy's head bleed in that game. So the "guys who have played for Babcock and (allegedly) hated it" list is up to Commodore, Chelios and Shanahan (Right? I remember hearing something about that at some point.) Firehawk 305 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 If I'm not mistaken, Chelios didn't play much in the playoffs last year either, if at all. He wouldn't have signed another year here if there were problems. People who start buying into this just like the drama, and are retarded in my opinion.
