LeftWinger 5,152 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 yeah thanks for the news flash. i meant the current wings dynasty. this run began in 1995 when you got SWEPT. wings fans were arrogant back then about how great they were. they still are today. our dynasty will start - maybe not this year but soon. and we won't have the embarrasment of being swept in a SCF. at least we won two games. This Dyanasty actually starte in 1990 since we've haven't missed the playoffs since, have been the ONLY team to win the Pesidents Trophy more than twice, 13 seasons with 100 points or more (currently 9 in a row) even the half season of 1994-95 we had 70 points which would have equalled yet another 100 point season. 4 Stanley Cups, the last team to repeat as Cup Champs, have the record for most wins EVER in a single season. Need I go on? IN contrast you know your teams abysmal record since the 1991 Cup. Epecially missing the playoffs 4 seasons in a row. Your dynasty will end before it starts when the Cap goes down, because you won't be able to afford to pay your players all that money that is already tied up! Careful what you wish for when you say you haven't had the embarrassment of being swept in a SCF. This years SCF hasn't been played yet...

Dude are you serious? As many times as the Red Wings have won the Cup since then, do you honestly believe that something that happened in 1995 is an embarrassment to the fans or the organization? It's 2009! Helloooooooooooooooo. Wow you're dense.

Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 at least we won two games. Getting swept definitely sucks, but the Wings were definitely outmatched that year. I'm not going to say they deserved to beat the Devils, but hey, at least it didn't take them 3 games to score a goal, right?

titanium2 867 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 Dear Wings fans, and Pens fans if it applies, please stop taking the bait. Like someone mentioned before, fans like those are only trying to goad a reaction out of others and gain some delusion of accomplishment to validate their misperception that they are useful with their free time. They're like the Sean Avery of internet forums. Just let them self-destruct. And since I'm positive they're out there I likewise urge every Wings fan not to behave this way on other teams' forums. You sure that's not what they want? Some of the earlier thread comments and insults from Wings fans just reek of insecurity, which might be worse than getting angry. LeftWinger 5,152 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 thank you! I think even funnier than the spill are the kids who are crouching on the ice lughing their assess off! Like maybe they set up a booby trap to trip him and were devilshing crouching down (hiding) to watch the unsuspecting victim! Then reveling in their success! Classic! Nobody knew that Fluery faling would be the metaphor for Pittsburgh's series last year!

Draperfan 104 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 Hello Red Wings fans, you can probably guess that I am a Penguins supporter. Looking ahead to the finals, I decided to make an account on this board so I can get some of your thoughts during the SCF. Though neither conference finals are over, our series looks pretty much over. And judging from the way the Red Wings played Game 4, it looks like you will close this series out on Wednesday. Hopefully the Pens learned from the beating you gave us last year. Some things you should know about me.... -I am a Pens fan (Obviously) -I come here to talk hockey...not to trash talk -I will try to be as least-biased as I can -I actually respect your organization, unlike Washington or Philly Here's hoping we can get along during the next couple weeks, and try to talk seriously and maturely about hockey. Good luck to your Red Wings! Welcome aboard, love to see fans from other teams,i love the pens style of play.Crosby and Malkin are two of the most exciting players in the league,so good lucke should be an exciting series..........but we have to get by Chicago first. Probie 7 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 (edited) the problem is you just assume the great and mighty wings are unmatched in depth. the stats don't tell the story. thus far in the playoffs: number of players with 10 points or more: Pens -6 Wings - 6 number of players with 4 goals or more: Pens -5 Wings -6 so there you go folks, the wings have so much depth let's just give up. last year in the playoffs, after FOUR rounds, the pens only had 6 players with 6 goals or more and 5 players with 10 or more points. this pens have no depth talk is nonsense. Here is the problem with your argument, some of our top players have been rather silent on the scoresheet yet we are still even or slightly better considering your stats above.... that is with all your guys producing. What happens when our silent guns wake up and light the lamp? Hence more depth. Considering up to the last game, Hossa and Datsyuk have been real quiet and weve gotten as far as we have as easy as we have spells depth. You cant have depth paying Malkin and Crosby that much. What happens when Old man guerin retires, or runs out of gas(soon)? Sykora might not be back either this year. You have one decent offensive prospect in Tangradi that is sure to make it in the nhl, that might enter the league in 2 years. Where is the offensive support, the depth the secondary scoring? Satan? Pulleeease. There is no dynasty in Pittsburgh, they "might" win a cup in the next 4 years, maybe, but there will be no dynasty. NJ was never the same after another once in 50 year player named Scott Stevens retired.
