The deal is worth $1.6 million, the source said.

Leino, a 25-year-old Finnish product, was a restricted free agent.

QUESTION

I thought he was supposed to get a raise under the new CBA. According to LGW he got 875k last year and now on average he will receive 800k a year. Was the 875 supposed to cover a buyout from his team Jokerit or something?
