Hold on a sec...Lilja skated??? The mlive link said:

Lidstrom-Ericsson

Stuart-Lebda

Meech-Lilja (out)

Does this mean hes getting closer? I don't anticipate him until after the Olympics at the soonest, but still...this was surprising to see his name pop up like that.

I'm excited to see Kindl finally suit up for the big team.

Lilja's been skating without contact for months.

Lilja has been skating for a while, and supposedly his headaches have been better since he saw a chiropracter. He is just trying to stay in shape. It will probably be a while before we see him, though.

I thought since the seeing the Chiropractor in Vancouver his headaches had gotten better, but he started getting ear-aches shortly after.

Does anyone have any word regarding an update on that?

 You love trolling these people, don't you?

Haha sort of. But I do think Bertuzzi fits better with Zetterberg. Bert is a better set up guy than a finisher. There is always a point in my deep sarcasm.

I'm thinking the PP pairings will be:

Lidstrom-Ericsson

Stuart-Kindl

I doubt Babs would put too kids on the same pairing for the PP and at this point he'll have a hard time looking Ericsson in the eye and saying he won't get PP time with Kronwall and Rafalski out. Hopefully this should force his hand with Ericsson.

Meech got some PP time last game and did pretty well. He will probably be on the second pairing... Although I would like to see Kindl on the PP for a shift at least

I actually kind of agree with you on this one. Problem is helm has hands made of stone and it won't do pavs any good to have someone on his line who can't finish. Babs needs to have helm do that drill like they did in mighty ducks and pass an egg around lol.

I'd like to see abby get a shot with pavs personally. He is a power forward in the making and would be great for his development to play with a guy like pavs or hank to see if he can handle a top six role. Leino is just a waste of a roster spot

id rather see Janik come up again. see if he can be consistently good so we have a Lillypad esque player if he cant come back this year. oh well.....

I was a little surprised they didn't bring him back up again since he was pretty solid last time, but like Drake said above they do need to get a look at Kindl and this is best time for his chance to show what he's got at this level.

I like the Leino/Bert switch. I feel like both lines are a lot more balanced now.

We'll probably see a rotation on third pairing again, though Meech has been playing some pretty solid hockey (even if he does need to figure out how to shoot on target).

Why does he keep going back to putting poisonstrom on Datsyuk's line?

Funny how Pavel has 20 points in 24 games, but needs to "get going".

As soon as they get Helm with Datsyuk, the sparks will start to fly. For some reason, the coach of the decade can't figure out that Pavel could use a little speed to open up some ice.

You mean: redwingsgoalleaderwith10goals-strom?

Helm won't be better than anyone on the first line.

That would be great to see Kindl get a shot tomorrow! I have been waiting to see him play since the pre-season!

I have to say I have been impressed with Jimmy Howard! The only thing I wish he was better at was controlling the rebounds, but that will come with time. Jimmy has made some huge saves and I think was the main reason we beat Dallas the other night. Dallas kicked our butts in the first and Jimmy kept us in the game! You could add the St Louis game to that as well!!

The Red Wings have recalled defenseman Jakub Kindl from AHL affiliate Grand Rapids.

He will join the team for Thursday's morning skate and will make his NHL debut against Edmonton if Brian Rafalski is unable to play because of the sore back that forced him to leave Wednesday's practice.

Kindl, 22, has one goal, a team-leading 11 assists and a minus-2 rating in 19 games with the Griffins.

"He's played pretty well, got off to a bit of a slow start the first three to four games,'' Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said. "Since he turned pro, he's continued to get stronger, learned to be better in his own zone.

"His strengths are his ability to move the puck. He's got good size (6-3, 210). He can be an NHL player.''

personally I cant wait to see him debut!

maybe he will permanently play his way onto the team and bump lebda and meech down

I hope he doesn't try to too hard and make mistakes. A nice simple game is all that's necessary.

I've been interested to see Kindl play. now we might get a chance to see what he can do for us. hope he can contribute for us. i see a lot of promise in this guy.
