O.K., maybe not that bad, but not that far removed either.

Atlanta gets no one that can help them right away. The team that gets the best player in a trade usually wins the trade. Here, it's not even close.

The other teams in the East must be pissed at Atlanta right now. They traded Hossa for Heatley, yet here they trade Kovalchuk for mere prospects.

Exactly and this is far from Flip + Kronwall + 1st as we ve heard. Now Bergfors and Tedenby have good potential. This is a better deal for NJ in my opinion than hossa's

Teams must have felt an inability to have him for a long-term contract. Because if not for that, other teams would have put better offers on the table than what New Jersey did.
