He is the Pain Train. Hopefully he will remember us when we play against him, and not hurt us too badly.

Best of luck to him and his family.

Nothing at all surprising here. If Lilja can't make that team, given the current state of its d-corps, then he'll either have to crawl back to Detroit or head to Europe. This is a perfect scenario for him. Time for the current guys here, especially the younger ones, to step up. Lebda and Lilja are gone ... only the best remain

Damn, I'm gonna miss that man. One of the nicest people I ever met. Good luck and good journeys, Andreas. Some of us will still have a soft spot for you.

I hope Lilja gets to camp in time to partake in the diving lessons.

I feel bad for Lilja, and I hope he makes the team. I think that he would be a good fit on the Sharks. I like the Sharks, so it would be easy to root for him there.

Lol... I'm pretty sure the handbook will be required reading on the flight in. I wouldn't be surprised if Wilson tripped him up coming off the plane in order to assess his skills.

They don't have a true enforcer on their team

They still don't.

Miss ya, Lils.

Well, I know he hasn't made the team yet, but I'm just saying that the move makes sense for them. No harm in trying him out.
According to my profile, my reputation is excellent. LOL.

I think it's a good move for both sides. I know he probably doesn't want to uproot his family any more than necessary, so here's to hoping he makes the team and doesn't have to resort to playing overseas.

if he signs a one year deal with sharks there is always the chance he could come back after this season as the 6th - 7th d man if salei and lidstom go, maybe kindl doesn't work out ect.

Lilja did spend the first 2 1/2 years of his career in LA, so it is not that crazy a thought for him to go to San Jose. He is basically a lock to make the team and has a realistic chance at making the top four. None of that could be said about his chances in Detroit, especially not after Salei was signed.

Not to mention buy their jersey if the sexy beast makes the team.

Damn right, I will. My closet is rather Eastern Conference heavy with jerseys right now.

I wasn't much of a fan in the early days, but I think we were all expecting something different than the player we got. I started to warm to him a bit as he started to play well, but it's a shame he got injured. Good luck to him and his family, I hope he makes the team and does well.

As for jerseys, all I have so far is Red Wings jerseys, so I think it's time to update my closet with some jerseys from the other teams that I like. I think a blue Staal Rangers jersey will be next.

Hmmm...we're pregnant with a girl; can a girl be named Lilja? Lilja May Lowell?

My wife is seriously contemplating "Stevie". She adores Yzerman. (But who doesn't)

Edit: WHat happenned to the negs? You could just neg me if you didn't like it instead of hijacking an entire thread with replies. Sorry.
