The Secret 304 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 Crosby haters will hate this but it was not a bad scrap... I'd call it a draw but I love the heart they showed. I personally am a fan of Crosby (minus the whiny fits) but the kid can play and I love that he will throw down from time to time.... and people question his leadership?! Scores, Assists, Hits and occasionally fights... if only we could bring him to Hockeytown!
markaswell 9 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 I thought it was a pretty crappy fight, to be honest. They had a lot of energy, but that's it. Niskanen Threw the best punches of the fight, at the very beginning, and then crosby proceeded to push him, pull him, and throw some "pushes" to the face. Crosby's definitely a strong kid, and he showed that here.....but he could take some pointers from datsyuk on how to throw a hockey punch! 1 Namingway reacted to this

Zion 93 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 This made ESPN, so you know it's important. Crosby needs to get the f*** beaten out of him, but no one on the Wings can do it, so I'm rooting for Carcillo to jump him like he jumps his opponents. 2 syntax and wingnut40 reacted to this
Guest L3T5G0W1NG5 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 Much better than the Datsyuk fight, but you guys don't make it seem that way. You guys aren't hockey fans, you're just Red Wings fans. 1 The Secret reacted to this

The Secret 304 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 Not many of the high end players like Crosby will drop the gloves and given that he isn't known for fighting I thought he did pretty well... want to see some horribly bad fights google some of Gretzky's and then this one looks like a George St. Pierre fight in comparison. achildr1 255 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 Crosby tossed him about quite a bit. That said, Crosby is probably gonna get demolished one day by an experienced fighter, if he ever agrees to go with one.

You counted this as a fight? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xwGH6bT1jA But yeah i would say hes won most but this one was pretty cheap jumping someone off the faceoff that had no intention of fighting. esteef 2,679 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 Much better than the Datsyuk fight, but you guys don't make it seem that way. You guys aren't hockey fans, you're just Red Wings fans. Not true. This fight was more energetic because of all the pulling and ragdolling. Datsyuk actually fought someone who knew his way around a tussle so there was more strategy involved. Let Crosby take on Perry and see how he fares. esteef 4 wingnut40, Hossa4Life, DatsyukianDekes and 1 other reacted to this
Ram 240 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 I really hate how Crosby gets in a fight and it's suddenly big news on ESPN and the first two highlighted stories on NHL.com. Why is it such a big deal? Didn't do much, Pens lost 5-2. I understand he is a posterboy, but it's just gets terribly annoying that it's suddenly the only story worth talking about. Sid the Kid is not Brendan Morrow or Jarome Iginla. He is a goal scorer. He needs to get off his high horse. I think Sidney Crosby is an unbelievable hockey player. I think his attitude and respect for the game and his opponents needs to change. Not because of incidents like this, but because of things like cheap shots (cross checks, crotch shots), refusing to shake hands after the playoffs, etc. 2 Hockeymom1960 and wingnut40 reacted to this
Travis 576 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 Definitely high energy, Crosby really went after the dude. Watching his other fights, though, it seems like it was pretty par for the push-and-pull-rag-doll course.
WorkingOvertime 536 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 Much better than the Datsyuk fight, but you guys don't make it seem that way. You guys aren't hockey fans, you're just Red Wings fans. The Dats fight was much better IMO. If you watch any of the heavyweights, you will see that they are much more controlled than in this fight. There was a lot of energy here, but that doesn't result in a good fight. I do give props to Crosby for apparently trying to shed the lid. I hate when players don't do this (see Kunitz's fight from this game). He may not be my favorite player, but I will applaud this.
PROBIE4PREZ 58 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 How about Kunitz and his body shots? I also liked how Iggy and Stuart handled their pre fight. Dropped Gloves - Dropped helments. To bad it was broken up for some unknown reason .. might of been the best for Stui cuz Jarome was mmaadddd .. lolumad? 1 Original-Six reacted to this
theman19 47 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 as other have said Crosby loves to jump and fight guys who have about two fighting majors under their belts so he can feel like the second coming of Gordie Howe or something. I also hate that his team got it's ass kicked and yet his fight is all that was highlighted from that game. One magical day, he's going to run up against someone who knows how to fight and they're going to beat him within an inch of his life. My heart of hearts hopes it's someone like when he fought zidliky (although not zidliky obviously) Just some random european D man who isn't going to take an ass beating from the NHL's poster boy. Paging Jonathan Ericsson,....... 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
