Donaldjr2448 43 Report post Posted April 13, 2011 I got this information from Kuklas Korner. The FSN Arizona and former Coyotes player Tyson Nash said "The Wings are scared of the Coyotes" REALLY????? Thats news to me. Hey Tyson, you better watch your mouth, those are pretty big words for a guy who cannot hack it in the AHL, let alone the NHL. Just shows what this idiot knows! As soon as the Red Wings started taking their equipment off after Sunday’s regular season finale against the Chicago Blackhawks, the Wings began to repeatedly state that they respect the heck out of the Coyotes, that they simply won’t take a team that the Wings’ players would argue doesn’t get enough respect lightly in any way, shape, or form, and the Wings have insisted that they’re well aware of the fact that the Coyotes are out for revenge, all while quietly suggesting that the mistakes made and glaring weaknesses exposed in their seven-game series against Phoenix a year ago were exploited by the Sharks in the second round, and that the Wings simply cannot expect to play the same way against Phoenix that they did last year if they plan on earning a hard-fought series win. The Coyotes, on the other hand, have sounded almost bitterly angry and almost borderline arrogant while insisting that it wasn’t that the Red Wings defeated Phoenix last year as much as it was the Coyotes that didn’t capitalize on their opportunities to wipe out the Wings and go on a long playoff run. If you read and/or watch the Coyotes’ interviews from Tuesday (never mind analyst Tyson Nash’s insistence that the Wings are scared of the Coyotes), there’s a sense that the Coyotes view their rematch with the Wings is an opportunity to gain a measure of revenge while driving over their previous playoff roadblock with a 20-ton tank, laying waste to the Wings before going on the long playoff run they were supposed to take last season. http://www.kuklaskorner.com/index.php/tmr/comments/red_wings-coyotes_game_1/ These guys seem a little cocky to me! Rule 1: Do not wake up a sleeping Giant! I think the Coyotes are already defeated in this series, and to me they sound like the ones that are scared. Discuss!!! SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) Meh, fans and players alike talk stuff all the time that gets read way too much into more often than not. While it helps, Wings shouldn't need bulletin board material to psyche themselves up. If this is something that he wants to use to help his team out, more power to him. Nothing none of us really haven't seen at all in our lives. Edited April 13, 2011 by SouthernWingsFan
mmamolo 287 Report post Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) 1. Tyson Nash was never, at any point in time relevent 2. This will be a good series regardless of what any analyst is predicting 3. The Red Wings organization is always full of soft spoken individuals (at least in the Illitch era) so it should be no surprise that the Wings are preaching a high level of respect for the Coyotes 4. Tyson Nash is just trying to draw attention to himself which is only fair as he was unable to do so during his NHL playing days Edited April 13, 2011 by mmamolo 1 Din758 reacted to this

CrimsonFlame 424 Report post Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) The Coyotes have to do this kind of stuff. They have to pump themselves up somehow so they can at least be in contention. I don't know if anyone listened to 97.1 yesterday but Karsch and Anderson read a statement Doan gave in an interview saying something along the lines of "We should have won last year" Edited April 13, 2011 by CrimsonFlame

Tyson Nash is just trying to draw attention to himself which is only fair as he was unable to do so during his NHL playing days That is exactly what I thought as well. Tyson Nash was never a decent player in the NHL, so now he sits up in the FSN Arizona booth and preaches to the 5 fans that follow the Coyotes on TV! Crazyness! I suprised he knows anything about playing in the league! Look at these totals!! NHL Totals: 374 Games played (Blues and Coyotes), 27 Goals, 37 A, 64PTS, +2, 673PIM, now Takes playoff totals: 23G, 3G, 2A, 5PTS, -1, 52PIM( all playoff games were with STL in 98-99, 99-00, 01-02, and 02-03) After 02-03 Mr. Nash played in the AHL were he was bounced around from team to team. Even the Toronto Marlies didn't want him!!

I never thought he had anything worthwhile to add to anything, be it an NHL ice surface or a radio broadcast. Talks like his PIMS are his point totals though. And yes, I agree with that type of thing. Hell, 100+ isn't enough for everyone when entire threads are dedicated to players reaching the 300 PIM mark

GoalieManPat 1,007 Report post Posted April 13, 2011 Of course he said that? What do you expect him to say? Hes a analyst for the Coyotes. Do you expect him to say "Ya the Wings are the better team and the Yotes will be lucky to beat them"? No, hes going to say what he has to to get his listening audience pumped for the series. Its what hes paid to do.

He was buried yet lives on... And in his memory.. I wish people like this would actually take a lesson from the last two decades and remember two months in the regular season does not determine playoff performance, but "I don't see it happening". I wish people like this could actually have confidence in the team they cheer for when turning up their game a notch is something the Wings have a habit of doing, but "I don't see it happening". I wish people like this would realize that playing the safe bet and betting against your team while pretending you want them to win is much like neutering yourself and wishing you had a pair of balls, but "I don't see it happening".
