It's also almost the last name of a very famous Brit who wants his MTV.

It's also almost the last name of a lesser known Brit who was in New Order.

Really it was just a spelling mistake.

Sharks sign Colin White. Not sure who he is but I guess he wasn't good enough for the Devils since they just bought him out... but Sharks fans seem happy about it. Sharks have too many dmen now. They might be moving some bodies...

He's been with the Devils since they won their last cup. (read: aging at 34)

More of a physical defensive minded defenseman who's lost a bit of snarl with age due to injury.

(Serious facial injury back in 2007-08) Not much of a point producer.

The Sharks are only sitting with 8 defensemen. Braun is still on an EL contract and may still be eligible to be sent down, but I dunno.

Stephane Veilleux signs one year, two-way contract with New Jersey.

Patrick O'Sullivan signs one-year, two-way contract with Phoenix.

Freddy Meyer to the SEL.

Rob Niedermayer to Switzerland.

Sergei Shirokov and Anssi Salmela to the KHL.

Jesse Joensuu to the SEL? Thought he'd get some ice time on Long Island this year.

Extremely minor news. But news, nonetheless I suppose.

Holy crap, the Islanders did something smart!

Garth Snow must be on vacation.

Finnish media reporting Jarkko Ruutu has signed in Finland. Not sure how accurate the reports are, though.

Good riddance.

Hopefully he'll take his fellow piece of cheap garbage Matt Cooke with him.

The rumor was Vancouver, although it seems not with Nolan and Fedoruk in the mix.

I saw that reported somewhere, and was sad. Now that it seems not to be true, I rejoice slightly in the tiny possibility that, maybe it COULD be Detroit... Oh, don't get my hopes up.

Winchester could be an interesting move, and his contracts tend cheap... hmmm.

If he wants to come on a two-way contract, sure. But generally he's about 1/10th the player some people here tout him as.

People tout him as a big body, great forechecker, good fighter and a guy that's scored 10+ goals twice in his career, despite being a 4th liner.

That seems like a dead on description of Winchester. I don't see what you're complaining about.

Why'd you just accuse me of complaining?
