It would be nice to have Ozzie as the back up and Conklin in the wings just in case something happens, although if Conklin doesn't get a chance to really play the it's a waste for him. I've said that I don't like when we sign the old guys for a 1 year contract, but that's mostly the non-Wings coming here for their last hurrah. I don't have the link, but there was a report last week that he'd be open to coming back to Detroit to play for GR, as long as it was a 1 way deal, so he was making NHL money and that is what I suspect this is - They signed him to a 1 way deal, with the intention of him playing in GR, however, if needed, he's a good back-up plan... He'll be the back up to the back up which will be Ozzie (in my world). Although, I think Emery is probably the "strongest" goalie out there in the FA market based on talent. At this point I wouldn't mind a trade for a solid back-up.
