MulesWillFly93 199 Report post Posted December 28, 2011 James Tiberius Howard, everybody. Like a baws. Datsyuk and Lidstrom have also been playing their guts out, White's been a great surprise, and Filppula has definitely taken it up a notch. Also, I wouldn't give them year-long MVP awards, but lately Miller and Zetterberg have been playing better, which I'm really glad to see. 1 Nev reacted to this

themcityblues 249 Report post Posted December 30, 2011 Lidstrom. What he brings to the team is truly unmeasurable, but I'm going to bet it's the most important element in the team.
Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted December 31, 2011 i think a special mention should go to Drew Miller, he is having a great year and babs is rewarding him too with his mins going up. in fact i believe he is well on course for a career year, one of the unsung guys on the team that most average fans tend to miss the work he does. 1 Aussie_Wing reacted to this

Wingzman91 134 Report post Posted January 1, 2012 Howard. Playing like this all year and he gets a trophy, one way or another. Playing better than I thought they would: Filppula Kindl Miller
BlakKy 58 Report post Posted January 1, 2012 Howard is the man at this point obviously. Datsyuk deserves lots of recognition as well... especially if you take the first 15-16 games away. He is probably at a 1.5ppg pace or something.
Motown4013 350 Report post Posted January 1, 2012 Its a landslide...Howard of course Flip has been pretty awesome at both ends of the ice and would be my runner up, given how far he has come this year!

Hiei 192 Report post Posted January 1, 2012 I think Quick might give Howie a run for his money on that. Only if LA stops floundering and can pick it up with Sutter running the bench. And Sutter might be more willing to use the 2-headed monster in Goal in LA, because right behind Quick is Bernier. 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
LeftWinger 5,130 Report post Posted January 1, 2012 Yes, last night he solidified his status as MVP of this team thus far. Looks like Goalie A has shown Goalie B how things are done on a legit Stanley Cup contending team.....cprice? 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted January 2, 2012 Quick has 17 wins in 32 games. Howard has 23 wins in 33 games. "Wins" is a team stat. Though Howard is better than Quick IMHO.
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted January 2, 2012 Main reason Howard is the MVP, besides his great play, is that we'd be FUBAR if we had to rely on Conklin to get some wins. If we had a competent backup I might have to say Datsyuk is our MVP but we'd have a better chance of winning right now if Datsyuk got injured than if Howard did. dragonballgtz 273 Report post Posted January 2, 2012 Quick has 17 wins in 32 games. Howard has 23 wins in 33 games. And Quick has a better save percentage with more shots faced in fewer games and one more SO. Not Quick's fault his team cannot score to get the wins.
