RainingBlood 8 Report post Posted January 20, 2012 (edited) I really interested to see the Lineup the Red Wings will bring out. My dream lineup for the game which I know wont be completey accurate. 1st Line-Hull,Yzerman,Shanahan 2nd line-Fedorov,Larionov, Kozlov 3rd line-Brown,Sheppard,Oates 4th line(Grind Line)-Maltby,Draper,McCarty ... Defense 1st-Lidstrom(if retired) or Schneider, Murphy 2nd-Rafalski,Chelios 3rd-Coffey,Fetisov Goalies Osgood, Hasek,Cheveldae coach scotty bowman I don't see Fedorov being apart of it know his relationship with the organization and his contract with the KHL. Same goes with Kozlov with his KHL contract. The rest seem like they could all play unless working for the NHL prevents Shanahan, and working for NHL teams pervents Bowman, Yzerman, and Oates Edited January 20, 2012 by RainingBlood
PrairieDawg 52 Report post Posted January 20, 2012 Thats such an amazing alumni lineup, they could probably win some games against actual teams with that team. 1 Motown4013 reacted to this
Travis 576 Report post Posted January 20, 2012 I think I'd be pretty surprised to see Oates don a sweater for the game. It'd be really great if Fischer could get even so much as a shift.
RainingBlood 8 Report post Posted January 20, 2012 when doing it I thought the same thing. Hull Shanahan and yzerman would be good for 40 goals combbined maybe more
achildr1 255 Report post Posted January 20, 2012 (edited) My realistic attempt... Howe. Larionov. Hull Verbeek. Lindsay. Ogrodnick. Redmond. Brown. Ciccerreli Klima. Burr. Kocur Murphy. Ward Fischer. Duschene Dandenault. M.Howe Vernon Chevaldae? Would like to see Fetisov and Kozlov. Doubt the recently retired play. If one does it would probably be McCarty. Namingway 146 Report post Posted January 20, 2012 (edited) Haha looking forward to this one. Now that Drapes retired, I wonder if they can get the grindline back together for this event! Although I'm not too sure if Stevie Y would be part of it due to being a busy GM and all, it'd be awesome to have him be part of this as well! acidroach420 25 Report post Posted January 20, 2012 (edited) I think seeing the grind line is almost for sure. Howe and Redmond are also pretty much guarantees i think. *edit* It would be funny to see cujo play one period for each team. Red Wings Addict 787 Report post Posted January 20, 2012 You can probably make 2 (or more) teams for each organization. If they ask Sergei Fedorov to play then he could probably win the game for his team all by himself. Although because he's still in the KHL maybe he can't technically be an alum. Buppy 1,720 Report post Posted January 21, 2012 The grind liners (both Kocur and McCarty) almost have to be there, and Ozzie as well. Murph and Mickey seem obvious (maybe Paul Woods too). Howe, Fisch, Cheli, and probably a few from the alumni association. And I would sure hope the Captain can do it, wouldn't seem right without him. Shanny as well... Mickey-Stevie-Shanny Ogrodnick-Igor-Dino Maltby-Draper-Mac Burr-Brown-Kocur Howe-Murph Fisch-Cheli Larson-Norwood Ozzie Mio That would be awesome...

Red Wings Addict 787 Report post Posted January 21, 2012 Any big Wings historians on here willing to make an extensive list of who can play? Which is pretty much anyone who is alive and proud to wear the winged wheel, no matter how short the duration. I think VM1138? is a big Wings historian. I'd make one myself but someone borrowed my version of the book, "What it means to be a Red Wing." Btw, great book that probably every Wings fan should have. No love for Norm Maracle, Phillipe Audet, or Stacy Roest? Serious question. Would Shanny even be allowed to compete since he's working for the league? I would see absolutely no problem with it. But you never know if some exec on another team would cry favoritism.

Kira 451 Report post Posted February 9, 2012 The Grinders is a no-brainer. Ozzie, of course. Stevie and Shanny, if they can get a break from other activities, would be good. Fisch, Cheli, maybe Mathieu Dandenault (sorry, I like him), Joe Kocur, I'd love to see Igor Larionov. Who knows?
kylee 727 Report post Posted February 9, 2012 Yzerman would be absolutely crazy imagine the applause. although I don't see that realistically happening as him being a GM
MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) The Leafs alumni line-ups always end up with a handful of guys that force you to do HockeyDB searches to find out when they played their 5 games for the Leafs. But hoping to see Gilmour, Sundin, Clark, Roberts, et al. CuJo and Potvin in net. Edited February 9, 2012 by MacK_Attack
