I HATED that movie

The cartoon on live action made me nauseous.

why you say that, I thought we were cool haha. I loved the movie because of the animation, and went latter on to find it's based in a Phillip K Dick book. The prior film made by that studio was Waking Life... but if you didn't like the style you'd probably hate it more since it's not as refined as in a scanner darkly

I like Claude Lemieux now. In 1996/1997 I wanted him punished bad (much like 99% of the rest of the town AND the press did). But I like the way he carried himself after getting his ass handed by McCarty. I like how him and McCarty are fairly acquainted well now and have moved on.

Inspired by the tv discussion in the "That 70s Line" thread in GD...

I hate Seinfeld. I think it is overrated, unfunny, and over the top obnoxious (and not in a good, "that's the point" kind of way).

Edit: I'm not done talking about this because I'm still annoyed. I feel like they tried to make "New York" humor a thing like "British Humor," except failed miserably because people who live in New York think they are such cool beans for living there that they take themselves and their "edginess" too seriously. The only thing that's funny about "New York" humor is their laughable sense of superiority.

And I am on a roll today, so don't get me started on people who don't put shopping carts away or people who throw trash out of their cars because my head just might explode.

American Staffordshire Terriers/Pitbulls/Any mix of them...I wouldn't shed a tear if this breed of dog was outlawed, and disappeared.

Some poor infant was mauled to death by a Pit bull mix a few days ago.

From Dog Bites.org - 'In the 11-year period of 2005 through 2015, canines killed 360 Americans. Pit bulls contributed to 64% (232) of these deaths. Combined, pit bulls and rottweilers contributed to 76% of the total recorded deaths'.

but they're nanny dogs

whenever a dog is aggressive or ill tempered most of the times there's a human(s) who turned them like that

just saying...

I get it that some folks like this breed, but the there's no other dog that has the reputation (and yes - some of it is courtesy of the human owners/handlers).

I'm a dog lover, but I cross to the opposite side of the street to avoid any form of contact with any pitt.

I totally get your point, and never tried to diminished or justify what happened in the particular case you mentioned. I'm a dog lover as well, and refuse to believe the APBT reputation. when I was growing up dobermans and rottweilers were the demons of the dog family.

Apparently the dogs I love take a lot of heat. one is a Xolo (hairless) and it's always the same about how ugly they are, people on the street are just the worst, making stupid and malinformed comments about him. and the other dogs I love one is a staffordshire and the other a pit bull. the staffie we took from a pound, she was scheduled to be put to sleep and we helped her out and found her a good home. The pit is a stray i took in last week, and both are the most loving dogs I've ever had contact with.

Anyways, I think chihuahuas might be the most temperamental and most likely to have crazy outbursts, but you know, they are so small... ;)

They are the Devil.

It's so annoying that they don't realize their size. I used to have an American Akita girl, rather big, about 110 pounds. Good upbringing and well trained. Only thing that got to her was the chihuahuas. She didn't bark or show too much emotion but I could see in her eyes that she'd chew that if I said "go".

FDA is now going to regulate cigars, and ecigs.

As a consumer of stogies - this really cheeses me off...F-ing feds.

That's the problem with people who pass rules.

You give them an inch, they take a mile.

In Fargo, they put a no-smoking ban to a vote. It didn't pass the first few times so they added an exemption for places that children weren't allowed. Then it passed. Most of the people who wanted to smoke in public wanted to do it in bars anyway.

Then they tried to pass one that would not allow people to smoke in bars. They made a big deal to the public about how it would be good for business because now "anyone" could go in there. No, they just changed the definition of "anyone". No one was actually being kept out before. They chose not to go in there. They may have had good, solid, health-related reasons, but it was their choice. Several non-smoking bars were opened, and they all failed. No one wanted to go there if one of their group smoked, or if they smoked, even if only when drinking.

The only way they got that through was by adding an exemption for the one cigar place that offered sales and storage, as well as a lounge for people to smoke their cigars in. That made sense. People went there for the sole purpose of smoking.

Then they banned smoking in there.

What really got people irate is that with each step, businesses spent a good chunk of money to accommodate their customers. Originally smoking was allowed if there was a separate area with its own ventilation. Businesses put them up.

Then, when it was moved outside, bars put up smoking shelters. Now you can't smoke within 20 feet of a door, vent, or window, so all of that money was wasted.

Fortunately there is still one place they can't touch. All of our casinos are on reservations. Since they are run by a sovereign nation, they can set their own laws. Many have voluntarily built separate non-smoking sections, but their business has increased from smokers looking for a night out.

No one would be half as mad about how things turned out if the non-smokers hadn't approached each step as a "compromise". At first, smokers were glad to compromise. Then as each "compromise" took away more, there was increased bitterness. Eventually, the pretense of "compromise" was dropped, and smokers were left feeling cheated. We jumped through all the hoops in the hopes that things would be fair. We had our spaces; they had the rest. Then they took ours too.

So we sit in casinos and our Native brethern say, "You didn't learn anything about treaties, did you?"
