I get that his situation sucks, but man, Sammy. Just be glad you're still playing.

I appreciate his honesty but quit whining and put In an effort.

"If I can be totally honest, it's not a lot of guys you get impressed by. Actually, it's no one else but him. From the bench, to see what move he makes -- you're like, 'I wish I could do that.' Sometimes you sit on the bench and just think, 'wow,' and you look over to the other bench and they sit there and shake their heads, too. He has great, great skills. I'm probably not going to play with another player who has the kind of skills he has." Mikael Samuelsson on Pavel Datsyuk

I thought he was just a health scratch. If they want to put him on ltir, assuming whatever is wrong with him justifies it, they can just recall him and do it.

Oh this young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him, well, I guess that's more than most 21-year-olds can handle... Ogie Ogilthorpe!

A bad case of "hurt pride", no doubt.

@AnsarKhanMLive: Wings have recalled Mikael Samuelsson because Grand Rapids is over the veteran limit. He will begin practicing with them on Feb. 19.

This affects the Wings because...?

He can't be in GR, they have to recall him.  It does absolutely nothing except keep him form playing for the Griffins, which a lot of people complained that he was doing anyway.

Roster spot. Means one of the young Gina will likely be sent down.

I thought he was hurt.  Hopefully the Wings just put him on LTIR and be done with it.  When he says he's better, they look sternly at him and with a stiff upper lip say, "No, you're still hurt."

Which is a kinda funny poetic justice if you believe the heresay that Sammuelson faked injury in the offseason to avoid being waived. "No, I'm still hurt."
