number9 3,297 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 I'm at a point where I want to see Franzen back in action. That guy was on pace for 55 points when we lost him, I'm sure some Franzen points, streaky or not, would have helped in some of thee close games.

wings87 1,290 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 I don't know, but I would at least try. Our system doesn't help us either right now. I get your point. Though the reason I don't think the lines matter that much, is because our current batch of healthy players are way to similar to one another. So essentially you would be moving the same player from one line to the other.
Dominator2005 558 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 If someone needs to be "replaced" than it should be Holland and not Babs. 1 pondrocket reacted to this
number9 3,297 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 If someone needs to be "replaced" than it should be Holland and not Babs. Why? He nabbed Cole and Zidlicky for us. Everyone was pretty universally happy when those trades went down, and it showed he was trying to improve this team for the playoffs. Zidlicky alone won us a few games. Personally I don't think either should be replaced, but I'd like to hear why you think the GM is more responsible for this slump than the coach. 3 GoWings1905, krsmith17 and PavelValerievichDatsyuk reacted to this
LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 2-2 in Ott-Tor ...if Wings miss the playoffs, the team needs to dump all the dead weight. It's been the worst stretch since 89-90 and it's not like the team was battling to make the playoffs and came up short, they were tied for 1st overall just two months ago at one point, they've been playing like s*** since. I think I'd be a bit happier if they were out of the picture all year long, then just barely missed them, rather than whats happening right now... The D needs a shot of roids, there is no way Kindl, Quincey, Ericsson can be on this team next season (sadly they will.) It's really time for Holland to think about trading a 1st round pick and (even though I don't like it) one of his top prospects in order to get a legit #1 defender. I think he should trade for that guy, re-sign Zidz and even look for a UFA to make this D #1 in the NHL. If it means trading one of the prized defenders in GR, so be it. I also agree Pav and Z need to be on the same line. Sheahan is well talented enough to be a 2nd line center. Helm has been doing fine in the top 6, but he is excellent in the bottom 6. Do you want him to do fine or excellent? I know it worked for Abby, but this could be a fluke year for him. If not, then great, he can stay in the top 6. I think Jurco (if not traded) should also be a top 6 forward along with Pulk. Sure that is too many top 6 guys, but like I said, Helm and even Abby can really take control of the bottom 6. But honestly, for the first time in a while, there are just too many forwards that can playt in the top 6. Z, Pav, Tatar, Nyquist, Pulk, Jurco, Sheahan, Cole (if re-signed,) Abby, hell even Weiss (but I assume he will be traded to a team of his choice.) That is why I do believe the focus MUST, MUST be on the D. Q, K, E are ALL no better than a #4 guy (barely.) We need a #1 and a #3/#4. Big changes I know, but no longer does this team need "tweaks." It needs changes... 1 RedWingsRox reacted to this

LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 At this point I think OTT is content with getting the guaranteed 1 point and taking chances in the SO...God don't let them catch us! SO and I have to go! Not gonna know who won until later....oh well, fingers crossed, come on Toronto! (puke, did I just say that? I guess its ok given the situation!) Fonzarelli 73 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 Toronto came through and kept Ottawa to 1 point. Both teams played gritty. Bernier played better than usual. I was really impressed with Hammand. He looks very cool and makes his stops look so easy. Great positional goalie.
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 Two up with three to go and two games against Carolina. The Wings have no one to blame but themselves if they don't get in. 2 Detroit \# 1 Fan and derblaueClaus reacted to this

Aside from the first period today the Wings played with a lot of heart the last two games. They may not look pretty right now, but you have to give them credit for their effort.
