In all honesty, would he be thrilled to go to Arizona (girls and golf aside) or Buffalo? Neither of those teams are knows as successful places where careers thrive. LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted April 19, 2015 Well, I think neither of those places have as bad as rep as Edmonton does right now...Buffalo has some devilish winters though! Sheesh! Of the three, give me Arizona!

Neither of those teams are knows as successful places where careers thrive. Those teams are struggling, but thats a given for a team who gets #1 in the draft. The big difference is that they don't have a reputation for ruining young players. Maybe the Leafs throw something like Pheneuf, 2 first rounders & JVR for McDavid. Who knows, what offers could come there way. For the record, I'm not saying the Oilers should take this, just giving an example of what could be offered to them. haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted April 19, 2015 As a Lions fan, I feel bad for Oilers fans having to watch that disaster of a franchise. That being said, I can't believe the Oilers get 1st overall again. Four 1st overall picks in six years is nuts. Somewhere built into the playoff lottery system should be a factor that accounts for when you last had the 1st overall pick. And how many times that's happened. 2 nyqvististhefuture and chaps80 reacted to this

chaps80 1,591 Report post Posted April 19, 2015 HAHAHAHAHAHA As if the Oilers won. The NHL draft is such a joke. Buffalo did'nt deserve it after the tank job, but man, they must be PISSED!! At least now Buffalo fans can take off their stupid makeshift McDavid jerseys.

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted April 19, 2015 At least the Oilers have actually won multiple championships in the last 30 years. Yeah I should clarify. They haven't sucked long enough to equate to the Lions. There is some current similarity in the gross incompetence that keeps getting rewarded in Edmonton like what happened with the Lions under Millen.
WingsAlways 486 Report post Posted April 19, 2015 It's sad. With all the hype following this kid, you know the pressure on him is going to be enormous. And when Edmonton finishes at the bottom of the league next season fans are going to be pointing fingers for not being the second coming of Gretsky.
number9 3,297 Report post Posted April 19, 2015 After McDavid, Hall, RNH, Eberle, Yakupov, and maybe Ference, the drop off on that team is enormous. Their ability is acquire zero decent D-men, goaltenders, and roleplayers is staggering. They'll probably get the 1st overall again next year too. 1 nyqvististhefuture reacted to this

nyqvististhefuture 1,002 Report post Posted April 19, 2015 Other then get a new ownership group in to change the team cultural, is there anything that Edmonton can do to turn this s*** show around? Nope ... There so obsessed in thinking all they need is scoring to win Lowe and mactavish need to go ... Only other hope is to actually have some picks outside of the 1st overalls actually pan out and become good players and from edmonton a past draft history it doesn't look like that's gonna happen
