LeftWinger 4,967 Report post Posted June 30, 2015 Bieksa could've helped, and a 2nd we could've burned. But, we have Smith.

nyqvististhefuture 1,002 Report post Posted June 30, 2015 Mlive says detroit is gonna make a pitch for green ... Just hope we don't get carried away and offer him a 5 year deal , he's good on the ppl and has a right handed shot but he sucks defensively and I'd think twice about putting him on the top 2 pairs
LeftWinger 4,967 Report post Posted June 30, 2015 Ok, so, lets say we land Green at a nice price and decent length. Who goes? Holland already said one of the kids will be here, and I doubt it will be for the 7th spot (unless its Jensen) and K is too expensive to be #7 all year. Kronwall-Green Dekeyser-Ericsson Quincey-Smith Kid or Kindl This is why is was a mistake signing Smith. They should've held off until the knew they wouldn't land Green. If the did land Green, Smith and K could be dealt. Now they will not get ANY value for whomever gets dealt OR ALL the kids will just stay in GR until next season. amato 3,210 Report post Posted June 30, 2015 If we were to sign green.. The kids would go to grand rapids because they don't have to pass through waivers and we'd rather them play in grand rapids than sit out in Detroit
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 The Wings aren't getting Mike Green. History has continuously shown they will get outbid by someone tomorrow. Which is fine because Mike Green isn't worth what he is going to get anyways.
Helmethead 235 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 Kenny will likely offer Green a 3 year deal at around 5 mil a season. Green will turn it down and sign with Dallas, San Jose or Colorado for 5 years 30 million.
derblaueClaus 1,668 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 I said it many times, I'd like Green being a Red Wing. But our chances are indeed very slim if Green doesn't take us as his ticket to the Cup. There is always a GM involved in the negotiations that is more willing to overpay than Ken Holland. And I'm glad there is. 1 nyqvististhefuture reacted to this
jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 One thing I really like about kh is, he generally doesn't get involved in bidding wars... He offers you what you'd be worth to this team, and when you don't accept, he moves on. Its shrewd, but smart. 2 krsmith17 and marcaractac reacted to this
marcaractac 3,963 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 Apparently saad wants 6.5 for 6 yrs Delusional f***s Can;t call him delusional when there are GM's out there who would pay it. Nlame the Gm's, not the players. They ask for big bucks because they know someone will give it to them. Then uh oh, lockout. Vancouver trades Bieksa to Anaheim for a 2nd Round Pick in 2016 Don't understand this move at all. Guess they want another expensive dman they can scratch come playoff time? nyqvististhefuture 1,002 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 So we know since we bought out weiss holland will likely go for mike green , anyone else he's targeting? I think when a Edmonton offers him 5x6 Kenny wil soon realize green isn't worth it, who does he turn around and go after? I predict were gonna get ehroff/jackman type dman ... Max 2 year term , someone who won't handcuff us for 3-5 yrs
Helmethead 235 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 Kenny has basically already told us what our blueline is for next season... kronwall-Ericsson Quincey-Dekeyser Smith-Marchenko Kindl

A first paring of him and Kronner sounds like a legit first pairing and would come with the benefit of giving Ericsson a position in our second pair he is not overstrained with. amato 3,210 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 If we were to sign ehrhoff for the first pair, I'd rather keep the second pair Dekeyser and Quincey.. They played well together last season. Kronwall-Ehrhoff Dekeyser-Quincey Ericsson-Smith Not an amazing defensive lineup but not terrible. But, I don't think Ehrhoff will be signed by Kenny.. although if I remember correctly, didn't we have interest in him before he signed with Pittsburgh? If he could stay healthy, he'd be a decent addition on a short deal. 1 krsmith17 reacted to this
derblaueClaus 1,668 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 Yes, he decided against a better monetary offer from us and other teams to go to the Pens. And I like your thinking about the DeKeyer-Quincy pairing.
mvanpop 98 Report post Posted July 1, 2015 I would like to try Quincey-Ehrhoff though cause I think a top line of Kronwall and DeKeyser would be great in both zones.
