amato 3,210 Report post Posted July 24, 2015 If the habs are a contender, hell be fine. Its when his team is sh***ing the bed he seems to not care. true. and their top six has a great supporting cast. I'm not saying he's done, I think he'll be fine there too. but if he's a bust again with that roster, it'll be real hard to find another deal
Helmethead 235 Report post Posted July 24, 2015 I'm sure he can understand when he's boo'd by the fans each time he touches the puck. Maybe it will not bother him. He apparently has no soul. Lol

nyqvististhefuture 1,002 Report post Posted July 24, 2015 Nope ... 1.1 million? I thought he'd get at least around 2-2.5 He's gonna be motivated to get 30+goals to get a better contract I know he's got a bad rep but At 1.1mill I'd of taken him Well, the Habs desperately need offence. Not sure Semin's the answer. Cheap contract and he's gonna be motivated to have a good year to get a better deal ... Not concerned on semin , it's year 2 and beyond I'd be worried about If he has a 25-35 goal season (which wouldn't surprise me) and the habs resign him he could become kovalev version 2.0 where the habs fans will love him and then hate him
jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted July 24, 2015 He just got bought out, so basically all he has to do is sign one year deals for a bit over a mill and he'll basically be making 6m a year. And on one year deals he scores a bunch of points, Cuz it motivates him to actually play. 1 kickazz reacted to this
DatsyukianDekes 2,428 Report post Posted July 24, 2015 Smart move for the Habs. 1 year deal on the cheap...A motivated, and healthy Semin could easily hit 30 goals. 30 goals on Montreal? Lol He will be responsible for more goals against then he actually scores. Book it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 marcaractac reacted to this
rick zombo 3,739 Report post Posted July 24, 2015 People act like Semin has this magic switch he can throw in a contract year. And that he's just lazy otherwise. Semin needs more money? BAM!! 35 goals. Semin has more money? BAM!! Helathy scratch. I see it more like this: maybe the guy just sucks now, beyond recovery. 1 Detroit \# 1 Fan reacted to this

Is semin lazy? Yes but he has the talent and scoring ability , that doesn't go away No doubt in my mind playing on a cheap one year deal it'll motivate him to score to get big money on his next contract ... Would i sign him to 3-5 yrs at 6-7 per if he gets 35 goals this year? Hell no On a one year deal at 1 mill it's a good chance by the habs Over here in montreal you can bet on prop bets and they already added semin at over or under 14.5 goals lol ... Went and do some tickets mixed with nfl player bets as well as eichel +56 pts I think he gets 25-35 ... We'll see what happens

LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted July 24, 2015 yikes! From a financial aspect, do we still want Petr to win the starting job this year? If he does, and wins, lets say 35 games, and gets us at least to the 2nd round, does he deserve $6M as well?
LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted July 24, 2015 (edited) Its pretty amazing how Cody Franson was all the talk for this UFA season and he still isn't signed anywhere. Is it that he wants too much money or maybe he just has a couple of teams he wants to play for and is waiting for their financials to work out to see what he can sign for? Who knows! I know, if he wants to earn at least some money, he can come to Detroit for a 1 year $1M prove himself contract! If he does, and wins, lets say 35 games, and gets us at least to the 2nd round, does he deserve $6M as well? No worries. Hotlby has three good years, two being workhorse type years, and three solid playoff runs. Mrazek would have to be phenomenally good to get in that category. He's quoted with "he's tired of one year contracts"So, maybe he'd take $6 over three years? I kid. I kid. Just like us signing Semin for a year. NO ROOM IN THE INN!! Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted July 25, 2015 I love Habs fans talking about what a steal they just got. Dude did sweet F-A last year, is lazy, and provides nothing outside of his shot. Who's gonna get him the puck? Desharnais? Plekanec? Alex "not sure if I'm a center or not" Galchenyuk? Not to mention Michel Therrien is his coach now, that guy doesn't coddle anyone as we know. Semin will probably be a healthy scratch more often than not.
