Pulkkinen, 2016 2st, and Kindl/Smith (or something comparable) to Winnipeg for Dustin Byfuglien. Upgrade the 2nd to a 1st if completely necessary.

Franzen on LTIR, sign Semin for cheap and we have.

Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Abdelkader

Nyquist - Richards - Semin

Tatar - Sheahan - Jurco

Miller - Glendenning - Ferraro

Kronwall - Byfuglien

Green - Dekeyser

Quincy - Ericsson

That's a cup contender roster right there. Offense extremely potent and defense just got a lot bigger and more offensive.

Get it done Kenny ;)

I agree LeftWinger. Blashill will absolutely use him correctly, something Babcock never did. And that's exactly where I'd like him to slot in, on the 3rd line with Sheahan and Jurco and on the left faceoff dot on the power-play. He will be a huge threat if he is used the same way Blash used him in Grand Rapids, but I think we all know that Calder candidate is out of the question...

Kip, you've watched him play? I haven't... Is he any good? I heard he has quite the shot...

That little one trick that you speak of... He can do that better than anyone in the Red Wings organization. You don't trade that away unless you're getting something similar in return (which we wouldn't). I'm not saying, he's going to score 40 goals every year and he is irreplaceable... What I am saying is that it's ridiculous that he is getting written off after 34 games in which he was very poorly utilized, knowing that we have a new coach that actually used him properly and he produced... a lot...

Except when he completely disappeared against Utica. Until he shows he has an answer when being well defended against, I'm not sold.

Like I said. I hope I'm wrong. And by no means do I think he sucks. I just think some people on these forums are pumping his tires far too much. I see guys like Jurco becoming more important to this team than pulk can ever dream of becoming.

Like I said, I'm not saying he should not be traded, I'm saying he doesn't "suck"... You don't lead the entire American Hockey League in goals by a wide margin, despite missing nearly half the season and "suck"... And to suggest he won't be an NHL player is ludicrous. I think he will be a legit 2nd/3rd line winger / power-play specialist. Again, he is not slow, he is just a very awkward looking skater. There are also a number of different sources that stat that he has been working on his skating. No one in the entire organization, and very few in the entire league, have a shot as powerful and accurate as this kid. I'll hold on to him, to see what he can do under a coach that will without a doubt use him properly. To throw him away without even giving him that opportunity would be foolish in my opinion...

For a guy who was that far and away better than the competition in the AHL, it was alarming how ineffective he looked in the NHL.

Pulkkinen disapeared against Utica? That's news to me... I'm pretty sure he had 3 or 4 points in that series, and led the team in shots on goal In the series... We ran into a very hot goaltender in Markstrom. It happens. I think he played great the entire playoffs though, including against the Comets...

I agree on Jurco being a big player this year... Yet another player that Babcock completely mishandled...

This. Pulk's one amazing skill is his bomb of a slapper. This skill does us absolutely no good if he can't find the time and space to execute it.

While I don't think he sucks by any means, I am unconvinced his success will ever translate to the nhl. I hope I'm wrong. I just don't see it.

I've never thought that he'd be more than a 3rd line PP specialist, but the swings players take on here is beyond ridiculous. They're the best ever, untouchable, gotta get them to the NHL right now until they're in the NHL, then their flaws are seen and they suck and will always suck. I'd move Pulkkinen in a package for an upgrade somewhere, but just dumping him for no real reason like some people want is foolish.

Who wants to dump Pulkkinen for no real reason?

Was frustrating to see that Pulkkinen couldn't get time to wind up for the shot. Perhaps put him on the Point on the Power play. He's wasn't fast enough in the games he jumped this last year to fire it orderly.

Hopefully Granato can find a nice spot for him on system plays and of course the powerplay this upcoming season.

If I was him I'd be training windup speed or less range of motion required 4 solid hours a day.

Im nit saying we should give him away for nothing. I'm also not saying I think he will make a terrible nhler. I just don't think his ahl success will translate to the nhl.

I can see him being a 20 goal player. 3rd liner who plays on the pp like others have said. I just think we have other players in the system who can attribute at least as much but can offer more in other areas of the game.

It is obvious we have too many forwards in the system, and that someone has to go. I just think pulk will be the odd man out, and just maybe his value now is higher than it will be when we need to free up roster space. Which does not, imo, mean trade him right now for the sake of it. But rather if we need to make up a package to bring in a need, I think he is the most expendable. And once again, I hope he proves me to be very incorrect. Crow would make for a delicious feast.

He is not some untouchable player like some make him sound. Nor is he garbage we need to get rid of. He is simply somewhere in the middle. If he adjusts to the nhl and pots 30 a year as a red wing, I'll be the first to admit I was wrong.

Anyone who wants to just get rid of him now.

Lol. You make the prospect of trading him sound like a personal vendetta. I'd trade him for a top pair, 50 point, right shooting defenseman. I've advocated as much. If that's "no real reason" to trade him, then I don't mind being unreasonable.

They'd mix up Byfuglien with either Kronwall or Green. But as a purely defensive shutdown pairing, sure why not.

I'd trade 4 Teemu's for Dustin B. I know one here in Stockholm I'll throw him in as a waterboy.

The bolded part is exactly why he won't net us anything close to a top 4 defenseman, other teams also have prospects like him hence why everyone is asking for the 2 ones with the greatest potential Larkin and Mantha.

I mean, until he's actually able to rip off his canon of a shot in the NHL, I think he's technically a zero trick pony.

Some of these comments are hilarious ... Can we at least give the guy a full season before tearing him into shreds?

Nyquist 4 goals in first 40 games in 2 seasons

Tatar 5 goals in his first 27 games in 2 seasons

Pulkkinen 5 goals in his first 34 games in 2 seasons

What a bust ... I'm sure he'll be better utilized with Blashill as coach

Let's wait and see what he does next season

Man, some of you really need to lighten up and check the batteries on your sarcasm detectors.

No one has seriously suggested that we give up on Pulkkinen and throw him in the bin.

What people HAVE suggested is that if you could package Pulks with some players and picks for a better roster piece they'd do it without even blinking. Just as some in the past have suggested the same for Goose or Tatar.

Nothing changes here at LGW, just the names slotted into the different roles.

There's a difference between trading him for a good player and "he sucks get rid of him."
