LeftWinger 5,152 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 (edited) I guess I just don't trust Holland with a first overall. Not that we've ever had one with him, but I shiver to think he'd not take the hands down top guy and pick HIS pick. Question is, I'd he did pick the right guy, where is he going to fit on the roster? We know Holland isn't trading anyone. I guess it's all just foreign territory and I'm just used to Holland being Holland. Is Foote related to Foote? Could you imagine that scenario? Adam Foote's son being drafted by Detroit? 3 minutes ago, Dabura said: Patrick or Liljegren would be a godsend. But, if we're being honest with ourselves, the Wings are likely picking in the 8-12 range. Which...meh. If we get 8-12 do you trade it for a D-Man? I think I'd probably lean towards keeping the pick; I'm not sure we'd be able to get much in a trade. Though, I do think we should be kicking the tires on other teams' young defensemen, e.g. Julius Honka, Anthony DeAngelo, Shea Theodore, Rasmus Andersson. marcaractac 3,963 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 I think Callan Foote is a very realistic option based on how I feel the Wings will do this season. And I am totally okay with that. I do think the team finishes bottom 10 overall. My prediction is around 23rd-24th.

I'm not totally sold on him being/becoming the caliber of player that we desperately need -- and, well, I guess that's my hang-up about the 8-12 range. We need elite, can't-miss talent. It's an arms race in the Atlantic Division and we're not even in the race. If we're destined to suck for the next several years, then I hope we're destined to suck hard and land a couple of lottery superstars. My fear is that we're destined to "suck modestly" (8-12 range) for the next several years and land some good-but-not-truly-great kids who help our cause but not enough to get us out of the hole we're in. Wheelchairsuperhero 1,453 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 Eaves would be leading the team in goals, and would be only second to Zetterberg in beardiness. 2 NerveDamage and roboturner reacted to this

Dumb color commentary guy was like "You can't really blame Mrazek on that one" I thought, how about yes you can, why doesn't he stay in the net? The color commentary guy was Brian Boucher. Goalies should not be doing color commentary. They never think a goalie is at fault for any goal. Kind of like Nightfall (if he still posts here anymore). joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted November 16, 2016 I hate blaming the refs for this game just because the Wings played such a terrible game but the game was tied late and the refs didn't call a clear hook on dekeseyer on a scoring chance then they went and scored

Mrazek needs to work on his positioning with some goalie coaches. His fundamentals are poor and shooters are picking up on that around the league. Getting rid of bedard was a bad move. mrazek was better in the nhl with him
