Jimmybigrigs69 376 Report post Posted June 14 3 hours ago, town123 said: What would be everyone's choice between going after Peterka, Rossi or Bowen? I wouldnt mind any of the three considering the price is right. However, Sabres fans do not have good things to say about Byram. Their take is he had really good partners to lean on in Colorado, but when he joined buffalo that dissapeared and he could not drive his own pairing. Peterka and Rossi are both very good. Both are German speakers. With us having Marco and Mo... id honestly explore both. And I'd ship out our disgruntled captain to do it. Fully invest in this generation of players and let Larks move on. Trade Larkin, Ras, and Berggren for Rossi and Peterka.
town123 235 Report post Posted June 14 I think Larkin would garner a tonne more than you're stating, plus our disgruntled captain just wants to see more committment to winning. Buffalo would want players instead of high picks back and the same with Minny. Since both teams would be asking for Kasper in return maybe offer sheeting the two forwards is a better idea? Since both teams would be asking for Kasper in return maybe offer sheeting the two forwards is a better idea? the ONLY thing about offer-sheeting them is the compensation. Let's say he offer-sheets Rossi to $7M, Minny decides not to match, we lose the 2026 1st and 3rd, our luck we s*** the bed again, this time actually WIN the draft lottery and Minny gets OUR 1st OA. Now, if they'd accept this years 1st, 3rd and lets say, Berggren or Rasmussen, or both, who cares about either really, I'd much rather do that. 21 hours ago, Jimmybigrigs69 said: However, Sabres fans do not have good things to say about Byram. I'm not paying a lot for a player like that. 1 LeftWinger reacted to this

Peterka would be #1 and its not close for me. This team needs to add a top line lw this summer. Hed be a perfect fit imo - speed, skill, production, age, and another German for Mo. Id give up a lot to get him. To think we coulda drafted him instead of Wallinder fml.

I feel your pain. I would prefer Peterka or Rossi, I'm just not sure the Sabres would want picks though. (not that you suggested that) What would a trade look like for you? Larkin, Raymond, Kasper, Seider, Edvinsson are non starters for me. I'd be reluctant to give up MBN or ASP. Danielson/13 overall would be available along with any other prospects/picks. If they want NHL players we dont have much theyd likely be interested in but maybe Compher/Tarasenko half retained or Rasmussen/Berggren/Johansson on top of the other pieces would get it done. I have no interest in Rossi Wings are already too small up front.

With so many teams lining up to trade for Peterka the cost will probably end up being stupid.

Plus we're in division so there's an added premium just to get started. 1 town123 reacted to this

kipwinger 8,756 Report post Posted Wednesday at 01:01 PM Fun thought: After the Panthers win last night much was made about it being a "dynasty" and how were they going to retain their core guys (specifically Bennett). To do so they'd have to shed salary elsewhere, which makes them primed for fleecing. Take a look at their organizational depth and see if there's anything of interest. I like Mackie Samoskevich. He plays really hard and fast, was trained well in Florida, has ties to Michigan (USNTDP and UofM) and is an RFA so he'll need a raise. He seems primed to get traded when you consider every dollar will count down in Florida this summer.

TSN reports that there are 3 teams he'd go to, Edmonton, Toronto, Detroit.

Jimmybigrigs69 376 Report post Posted Thursday at 08:30 PM Honestly, an interesting move by Yzerman would be to take a stab at signing Bennett, Marchand, AND Ekblad. Importing an entire culture. And if he could pull that off, let Tarasenko stick around another year as part of it. Just buyout Holl and maybe move Gus. But we'd have to let Kane walk, but honestly that might be for the best. We need a turnover in leadership. DCat - Larkin - Raymond Marchand - Bennett - Tarasenko Kasper - Copp - Compher Soderblom - Ras - Berggren Ed - Seider Chiarot - Ekblad Ajo - Gus
