If Zadinas mind is on defense in the Ozone cycle we have a much bigger problem than him not scoring... hes averaged a point every 2 games from the 3rd line gettong 13 mins a night. His offense hasnt been anywhere near "cant score".

Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted September 19, 2021 Through 3 games, Edvinsson has been solid for Frolunda (SHL) in a top-pairing role. He looks more 1) comfortable than I'd expected and 2) Seider-like than I'd expected. That pleases me. Ken Kal said during the first prospects tourney game that Edvinsson was #1 on Dallas's 2021 draft board. 1 town123 reacted to this

The thing I loved was that when I watched Eddog's highlights for the first time, 75% of them were him doing well in his own end. This kid is going to be a good one. Neomaxizoomdweebie 3,083 Report post Posted October 1, 2021 https://www.mlive.com/redwings/2021/09/red-wings-jakub-vrana-out-four-months-due-to-shoulder-surgery.html I think this solidifies a roster spot for Bobby Ryan. Which wouldn't be a bad thing, he's looked good since his PTO.

Ras and Erne create quite a few chances that I think Ryan would finish on more often than Namestnikov does. 1 Rick D reacted to this

As much as I think Veleno blows, I think he makes sense there. I don't like Blashill's tendency to try putting skill guys together. I think scoring lines need someone to dig for pucks and maintain possession. I think Fabbri-Suter-Ryan gets murdered in possession because none of them are going to be especially good at winning puck battles. Veleno would be. For now I'd do: Bert-Larkin-Zadina Fabbri-Suter-Veleno Erne-Ras-Ryan And after Vrana is back I'd do: Bert-Larkin-Vrana Veleno-Suter-Zadina Erne-Ras-Fabbri
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted October 4, 2021 (edited) I love Bobby Ryan. But if he's on our second line, I am going to make the loudest mouthfart noise the world has ever heard. We're supposed to be taking a step forward this season. Edited October 4, 2021 by Dabura 1 AtlantaHotWings reacted to this
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted October 4, 2021 1 hour ago, BarkBurgerman said: I really have never understood the unconditional love for Bobby Ryan. And I'll admit it's not as pronounced here as it is on some other Wings fan boards... but still. No one would take this guy, so he signed a bargain deal with us. Hurt majority of the year. When he does play, it's as a one-dimensional middle-6 offensive-specialist. But I see people are buying his jersey and celebrating him possibly returning to the team... why? Now still no one wants him and he's forced to sign a PTO with us. He's like bizzaro Thomas Vanek. Same exact role and player, produces less points, but everyone loves him, when no one gave a rats behind about Vanek. A guy who could actually earn a contract. I played against him a few times in peewee, so I have to root for him. Because sports. Seems like a good dude. Been through a lot. (Some of it completely out of his control, some of it maybe not so much.) Mainly, he had to play for the Ducks and Sens, which is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. 1 Rick D reacted to this

He played 33 games out of 56 last season. I cant find it now, but I had read that he liked playing here, that there was some interest from other teams, but he opted to take his chances coming back to Detroit on a PTO. If its Detroit, or retire, that's his choice. Not unlike Mike Green. He is a RH shot, too. Something missing from the forward group besides Gagner and Stephens, who bring little offense. He's not a difference maker. But he brings some offense, a RH shot, and a veteran presence to the locker room. If he isn't holding anyone back, then I don't see the issue with a 1 year deal. 1 Rick D reacted to this

It's just another case where I'm confused by the whimsy of fans. Vanek had basically the same or better numbers in both stints here. He said he liked playing in Detroit and even returned for a 2nd stint. Blash sang his praises, and literally said he was one of the smartest players he's ever coached. Also a RH shot. Also a veteran presence. Also signed one year deals. Fan reaction: WHY ARE WE SIGNING WASHED UP OLD VETS Fan reaction to Bobby Ryan: AWESOME GLAD HE'S BACK. LOVE THIS GUY. I just don't get it. They could sign exactly the same guy and fans would call Holland an idiot and call Yzerman a genius. Edited October 5, 2021 by Neomaxizoomdweebie
