I dont know man, he's pretty damn good.  He legit makes something happen almost every time he touches the puck, but is he Crosby or Mcdavid level good?  I also dont know.  I do know listening to that broadcast almost made me throw up in my mouth repeatedly though and made me not like him a little bit just by association to those two morons

I think the lady announcer was Chelios' daughter. Totally agree each time "the chosen one" touched the puck it was like the second coming. Didn't get to watch the 3rd but assume they went bonkers over the empty net goal

Here's what will happen with Bedard. He'll score a zillion points (but get scored on constantly as well), get signed to a massive contract, that contract will put the Hawks in cap hell, and they'll never sniff a cup. Same as McDavid and Hughes before him.

I know this will sound absolutely crazy to the kids but an 85-90 point center who plays correctly is better, and cheaper, than a 150 point player that is only effective in the offensive zone.

I don't think he'll score 150 points, I was talking about McDavid and his obvious lack of accomplishments given that he's supposedly sooooooo good. I think Bedard will probably score like Kucherov or Pastrnak scores, more or less.

My concern would be that management have an average IQ of 80 if that happens. AHL is an adjustment league. If Ed is healthy enough he should be in the NHL.

He won't be down the entire year. Just to start the season. He will get some call ups, but I am more concerned with his defensive lapses than I am how long it takes for him to stick.

Scoring a goal means less than staying out of the penalty box and avoiding a 5 on 3 PK.

And it wouldn't be his D+3 season. He was drafted in 2021.  He wll turn 21 in 2024. I don't know why that's alarming for a young defenseman.

If Edvinsson was ready, he would be on the roster. Do you really think Yzerman would keep him down just so that he doesn't have to waive or trade a player? Raymond made the team just fine and didn't have to play in GR. SY made room because he was ready. If Edvinsson is better off starting the season in GR, then who cares if he isn't helping the team?
