Yzerman can't afford to have 2 mil on the bench.  Chiarot, Petry, Holl, Copp, Husso = 21 million.  TRASH.  Other teams' castaways.  Talk about stepping over dollars to get to pennies.

These guys are TRASH.  Yzerman had a chance to unload them and did nothing.  And that basically means we are DOOMED to watch them suck donkey deck next year as well.  This is so frustrating.

Hi I’m Scott. I’ve been bitching all year about GR kids not getting a chance to play and MY favourite part of last nights game was the time Bergrren entered the zone and reversed right to Hanafin to Eichel to March to net. Like it was preseason. At a critical moment in the game no less. Love it!!!!!

I have not had the chance to see more then a handful of games Berggren, but he's always looked so meh in the games Ive watched.  Is this just a coincidence?  Listening to the new wingwheel podcast the other night they mentioned that placing burgers in for Sprong next year is almost the same thing-Im not seeing it at all but again I havent seen him much

He had a rough turnover last night for a goal against. He also drew two penalties in a row by moving his feet in the offensive zone, one of which we scored on to tie the game. He's a really good player, but he's still a rookie.

Berggren drew 2 penalties in the 3rd.  He was playing just fine.  Physical mistakes from our prospects LEARNING TO PLAY NHL HOCKEY is acceptable.  Physical LACK OF SKILL/ABILITY from our NHL castaway TRASH is unacceptable.  I would rather our young guys learn to compete than watch TRASH fail to compete.

He looked ok last night, we just need a little darn luck to swing our way here.  I was reallllllly hoping Fabbri fed him the pass on that 2 on 1 they had.  Bergs had that one timer ready to label.

I’m definitely routing for the kid.

Yup.  I can't understand why any of our LGW members don't want to see our high draft picks play.

Jeesh.   We lose Larkin for a spell, lose 5 in a row and then don't commit to any direction at the TDL.

I thought they sucked against theYotes, but look way better, albeit with crappier luck vs Vegas.

I refuse to jump off the cliff.   SY like it or not is leaving it up to the current squad to stay in the hunt and snag a spot.    It wasn't too long ago thatI couldn't care less who we played in the first round, we were going to give whoever a good fight, probably win, and if not at least provide some playoff experience for Mo and Lucas.

This summer Holland gave us Kostin in exchange for taking Yamamoto as well.

We buy out yamamoto so kenny doesnt have to. Cool.

6 months later SY flips Kostin for a 7th and a player buried in the minors (cap dump) in Radim Simek.

So we took on two different cap dumps in exchange for a 7th round pick...

You still trust the yzerplan... right LGW?

AND we are still a laughing stock from a toughness standpoint.  Can't wait until Seider gets slewfooted and breaks his ankle on the boards.  Can't wait to hear everybody tell me how having a tough, hard hitting line up and a coach that promotes toughness doesn't matter.  This Wings team is cast away ice capades right now.  And it could have been a bunch of our prospects getting busy.

Derek has absolutely neutered Seider, for better or worse. Go watch his first season in Detroit and then this one. You wouldnt know its the same player.

Looking back at Derek's comments from this past summer he says Mo is "simplifying his game" and "becoming a more efficent defender"

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The kid was so naturally dynamic and aggressive, but now he's a robot out there. You dont take a kid with special talents like that and force him to be Nick Lidstrom. Just fuqqing let him play his game and be Pronger if he wants to be Pronger.

Im gonna say something I never thought I would. I miss Jeff Blashill.

Could not agree with you more.  Can you imagine if teenage Chuck Norris decided to follow Fatboy Steven Seagall and practice fake ass Aikido instead of getting jacked with Bruce Lee and kicking ass with his FISTS?  You don't have to imagine.  Just look at our little sissy boy, Mo Seider.  Gloving his way to a complete estrogen filled lifestyle.  It's sad.

My take is why potentially overpay at the deadline for a chance at playoff hockey? I could see what Holland had done - the streak and all, but for Yzerman - what does he gain if he has to send picks/prospects?

I agree... you'd have to do a major edit to this team in order make it a successful/competitive playoff team.  To fix what's broken will take more than trading for more of the same overpaid mediocre complementary pieces similar to what we already have.
