My prediction is Red Wings win 10 more games this season for 20 more points totalling 111. Good for 2nd in the Atlantic behind Florida. Toronto is a close 3rd. Last year I stipulated that they'd both have to play 50 games for this to be true and Edvinsson (inexplicably) didn't meet that threshold. 2. Rasmussen will score 20 goals, 30 assists and blossom as a top power forward in the league. I made the same prediction last year but failed to account for the fact that Ras was rehabbing a broken kneecap all summer and not working on this game. This year he's got a full summer and I expect bigger things out of him. and my third bold prediction... 3. We get Rutger McGroarty from the Jets for a package featuring Bear-Grin and a 25 lotto protected 1st, sliding to 26 if necessary and a 2nd in the opposite year. 2. Holl is our 3rd best defenseman. 3. We finish with the same point total but miss the playoffs by a larger margin. 4. You’re pretty spot on with these so far. The defense isn’t “much improved” but it has improved slightly. But we have seen major change in the defense corps and we do have four rookies on the team. That's interesting... it's a move that won't salvage this season but might prevent players from regressing or stunting the growth of young guys. I do this INSTANTLY. Columbus won't though. Jiricek is only 20 years old. All of our defensemen outside of Moritz Seider have ZERO NHL games experience at age 20. This cat isn't excelling at the NHL level right now, but in 2 years, he will be. He could use a change of scenery though. Columbus is the new Phoenix. Players fizzle out in that organization.
