#2310581 Red Wings OUT of bidding for D Justin Schultz

Posted by amato on 27 June 2012 - 09:31 PM

Eh not the end of the world. Yea could be a bust but he just seems like a bit of a drama queen.. I'm not worried.

I'd rather put him on helms wing on the third than put helm on the fourth.

#2309218 2012 NHL Entry Draft Discussion

Posted by amato on 23 June 2012 - 11:55 AM

Very good draft by the wings... nice job kenny and crew... Now lets make some noise a week from tomorrow!

Go Wings!

Yes! Fianally a positive post about the draft. Everyone needs to stop freaking out.. If nothing happens July 1st, by all means be pissed. But for now, I trust holland to make this team great just as he always has.

#2308258 Red Wings Prepared to Offer Hudler Contract

Renaud Lavoie via twitter: Sources in New York are saying that it appears P.A. Parenteau is headed to free agency.

Possible huds replacement? Don't know too much about him other than season stats from the past couple years are pretty decent lookin..

Thoughts?

#2308063 Parise and Suter - how much are they really worth?

"Chatted briefly w/Rinne. He said he tried to call Suter today, but no answer. He still thinks there is a good chance Suter signs w/ Preds."

#2307961 Red Wings make contract offer to D Justin Schultz

Also keep in mind he has been forced to play with Kindl, Commodore, Lebda... Ian white, Kronwall and Stuart would probably look worse playing with these scrubs

Probly the best point anyone has made about Ericsson. Can't wait to see what he can do playing regularly with white or kronwall.. If he even gets that chance.

#2307423 Zach Parise

Posted by amato on 14 June 2012 - 04:15 PM

Michael Russo of the Star-Tribune: "The Wild have more than $20 million in salary cap space and will be targeting “NHL talent.” The Wild are desperate for scoring and are expected to offer Zach Parise as much as $8-9 million a year."

I doubt 8-9 even gets him to go to the wild.. I dont even kno why the wild even think they have a chance at landing parise.

I think nyquist could easily be hudlers replacement if they give him the amount of ice time and responsibility huds had.

#2307033 Nashville to trade Suter's rights?

Posted by amato on 12 June 2012 - 09:48 PM

So you wouldn't give up Mursak/Emmerton/Andersson/Kindl ??

Not for rights for a UFA, no.

#2307031 Nashville to trade Suter's rights?

If we don't get him, doesn't that hurt our chance of getting Parise?

I've always been hearing they want to play together.

Probably. They want to play together on a team that has a chance at the cup every year for a decent amount of money.. Sounds like we're one of the only options. Also I assume they know Howie from team USA so that might help.. I think we have pretty good chances of landing both of them. Can't wait for july 1st

If he wants to come here, he will.. Not concerned about his rights getting traded.

I want to see nyquist up full time for sure! I want to see a nyq/Dats/Z line some day soon.

#2306528 Brad Stuart's rights traded to San Jose

Posted by amato on 11 June 2012 - 08:26 AM

Helene St. James via twitter: Brad Stuart on Red Wings GM Ken Holland: ”To make this move speaks volumes for the Wings. If it doesn’t work out, Ken indicated they’d still like to have me.”

Maybe they won't be able to work out a deal in Cali.. Haha call it wishful thinking?

#2306351 Brad Stuart's rights traded to San Jose

Stuart leaving is a bigger loss than most realize. He takes a lot of crap around here from some who fail to see just how good he was overall for four years here. Sure, he wasn't perfect, but there aren't many who come even close to great, let alone very good, and Stuart was without a doubt very, very, very good and a very important part of the Wings defensive puzzle over the last four years. Losing him and Nick in one fell swoop is rough.

If Holland can't make some big things happen, we're likely to have a rough season ahead of us. Thankfully, for once, I think Holland knows he has to be more pro-active and aggressive than he's had to be at any point in his career. If ever there was a sink or swim time for the Wings management, it's now.

Also, not expecting this pick to hang around for long. Whenever Holland trades for the rights of one of his big targets, this will be in the package no doubt.

Agreed. I always thought Stuart was a great d man. I think moving his rights was Hollands first step in being more pro-active this off season. Glad we got something for him rather than nothing.. Can't wait to see what else happens this off season.
