#2424012 2013 NHL Entry Draft Discussion

Posted by amato on 30 June 2013 - 04:27 PM

After ziplining through the room while dangling around all the suits only to land on the stage and strike a pose *cue pyro*

i'd rather him just appear in a puff of smoke from the middle of the stage. wearing a tux with a top hat and magic wand.

pulls the jersey out of his hat

#2422088 Wings interested in Weiss

Posted by amato on 25 June 2013 - 07:13 AM

No he's one of the hardest working guys on the team! I want fil back badly but not for over 5 mil. If fil walks I would consider maybe trading his rights along with Quincey and a mid pick or mid prospect to Florida for Weiss rights and kris versteeg

I'd love to see Matthias come over with Weiss. 6'4, 220.. 25 y.o. and put up 14 goals in 48 games. doods a hard worker. Don't really see it happening tho with how many forwards we have.

#2421481 Flyers to buyout Briere

Tampa is buying out his contract, he will be a UFA.

#2416473 Will Brunner be back?

Posted by amato on 31 May 2013 - 07:59 AM

even though he isn't really all that good except for finishing.

Definitely think he'll be back but as far as this goes, I think he's the guy who will benefit most from a full summer, training camp, and regularly paced season.. I think he'll continue to improve in all areas.

#2416101 An open letter to the Western Conference

Colorado - it was a nice rivalry while it lasted.. But that's what happens when you're rivals with the wings.... We didn't just do our best to beat you, we banished you to the bottom of the standings and leave you there to rot! :P

#2416096 The ugly elephant in the room

Posted by amato on 30 May 2013 - 10:35 AM

Just remember, this years cup does have an asterisk by it :P

#2414094 I hope for more of this in game 7

Posted by amato on 28 May 2013 - 04:55 PM

LOL....guys....the worst part about that wasn't that it was a penalty in general, but it is that he was called for tripping.

Not only does he not trip him, but he hits him about 1.5 seconds after the puck is gone so that isn't interference either.

That isn't a penalty.

pretty sure you're wrong.. either that or nhl.com's box score mixed up sharp and toews which I wouldn't doubt. but, pav's only penalty from that game is:

DET Pavel Datsyuk : Tripping  (Patrick Sharp)

#2412389 Jimmy Williams in Detroit

Posted by amato on 27 May 2013 - 10:44 AM

The insercurity and inferiority complex of some Wings fans is just mind blowing.  ESPN, Wilbon and Kornheiser have never claimed to be NHL experts.  Wilbon anchors their NBA coverage and has been doing so on a nightly basis since the start of the NBA playoffs.  I'm guessing he's a bit overly tired and jetlagged.  But here, it must mean he hates the Wings and knows nothing about them!!!   Of course most here seemed to miss how much he praised the Wings and gave the Hawks little chance of coming back from the 3-1 deficit.

FWIW for those who know nothing outside of the Red Wings, Jimmy Williams was a linebacker for the Detroit Lions (they are a professional football team) and there was also a second Jimmy Williams who played DB (defensive back) for Atlanta.

I must have missed the part where anyone on here said that...?

#2412384 Id never seen something like that, that big,'' Keith said.

Posted by amato on 27 May 2013 - 10:35 AM

“I just said, ‘That thing’s gross,’ and he said, ‘You’d better get out of the way or you’re going to get hit,' '' Keith said. “So, I was like, 'All right, I better get out of the way then.”

hahaha get emm Al! :P love it

#2412251 Nyquist thoughts

Posted by amato on 27 May 2013 - 12:57 AM

#2412249 Ian White

Posted by amato on 27 May 2013 - 12:54 AM

You keep asking this same question in multiple threads.

You must not have watched the regular season. He contributes nothing. If you don't have size or athleticism (he doesn't), then you need to bring offensive acumen to the table (see: Brian Rafalski).

Offensively, he is average at best. Defensively, he was turning the puck over too much. He has no place on this team.

no #5 to make up for his mistakes this time around.. white showed his true colors this year. he's an average #4-6 dman in the NHL; nothing more, nothing less
