This seems like kind of a grey area. On one hand, he's technically still "under contract" with the pens and they're still paying him.. but on the other hand, they chose to move on from him.
I don't think they should be eligible for compensation but I guess they got it on a technicality. Thoughts?
Definitely should not apply to any coach not currently serving any function for a team. What's to stop a team from hiring a guy long term just to inevitably get a draft pick out of it?
